Haku nearly dropped the giant blade as Bullet punched it, causing it to miss. "Ngh...!" She tried again, but just as it looked as if she was going to slice her target...

Cookie, in full Rage Mode, came barreling into battle, knocking into Haku in her fury and sending her falling to the ground. "DESTROY YOU!!" she screeched at Bullet before throwing herself at him, her flail thrashing.

The Chaos Kin simply continued to fly around in a wild, unpredictable pattern.

Still eyeing the Chaos Kin as it wildly flew around, Pit ran after it, staring upwards at their foe as he continued to launch arrows of light. It didn't take long for him to start growing tired, however, and his pace eventually slowed until he had to stop briefly to catch his breath. In this moment, he desperately wished that he could simply pursue the Chaos Kin in flight, rather than from the ground below.

Meowth finally fell. He was limp. That tail strike had done a number on him. James used the extra energy to pull himself up. He swung a leg and kicked the Chaos Kin's eye.

Jessie was finally flung off. "Come ON!!" She saw Meowth. "Hello? Healer? Somebody??"

Chaos Bullet dodged most attacks, and blocked ones he couldn't. Suddenly one of her attacks hit him, and he stumbled backwards. Flint ran towards Cookie "Oh no!! SOMEONE! HELP ME CONTAIN HE-"

He was cut off as he was suddenly punched in the back by Chaos Bullet. Flint slid across the ground. Taking a moment to recover, and stand.

Suddenly Chaos Bullet grabbed Flint by his tail, as he tied to get away. He held Flint above his head. Flint squirmed, and cried out in fear, just before he was thrown.

he tumbled across the ground, and tried to dig is fingers into the ground. He BAAARELY held on, and was on the edge of the mountain peak.

he tried to stand, but suddenly he saw Chaos Bullet charing at him. He was frozen in fear. As he stared at the oncoming attack, his eyes grew wide "NO! DON'T! PLEASE! STOP!" Flint felt his arm tense. "DAD PLEASE NOOOO!" Flint stood, almost not noticing he was doing it. And suddenly he threw a powerful punch at Chaos Bullet's stomach.

A shockwave could be felt across the mountain peak.

White and red swirls faded from Flint's fist. Bullet lay slumped across his son's outstretched arm.

The world went silent. Flint didn't think. Didn't move. Didn't hear. Didn't see. Didn't feel. Anything. But wait. Why was his heart pounding? Why were tears rolling down his face? Was...Was something wrong?
Flint stopped breathing. Staring blindly at the limp figure laying on his still outstretched arm. He was unaware of everything around him.

Bullet slumped off Flint's arm. Falling backwards, with a thud that to Flint, sounded deafening.

Flint fell to his knees. Breaking out into loud sobs, he let himself lean forward, and press his hands against the blue Kattaca's side. "Dad..? Dad? Dad?! Are... Are you ok?!" He broke into loud, wrecking sobs. "PLEASE BE OK! PLEAAASE!!!" He rested his head on Bullet's chest. "no.... NOOOOO!!!!!" He shouted in angry defiance.

Bullet was dead.

Jessie paused to look, carrying unconscious Meowth. She was oddly without remorse. "....Oh."

James was a bit more distressed. "Wait wait! He wasn't supposed to DIE! Was he supposed to die??"

He saw that the Chaos Kin remained active. "HELP ME! I can't keep holding on!! We gotta kill it!"

Just as he was about to shoot another Thunder the Chaos Kin's way, the sudden commotion by the edge caught his attention. "... Bullet... ... Flint...!" he murmured with a near-inaudible gasp before rushing over. He stared down at Bullet's lifeless body, then his gaze slowly moved to the Kattaca's devastated son. "Flint, I..." he began, though quickly trailed off, hardly able to find words. Remaining silent, and with his head down, he slowly made his way to Flint's side.

Rosalina, who had been invisible, regaining her energy and waiting for the right chance to join the fight until now, suddenly faded into view before the others at the scene of the tragedy. "... No..." she murmured extremely-softly as her gaze scanned the scene. She could only imagine how grief-stricken Flint must have felt in that moment. "... Flint... This was in no way your fault," she softly told the young one, trying to ease at least a sliver of his pain. "You only did what you needed to do to protect yourself..."

Haku found herself staring in the direction of the scene of Bullet's death. All too quickly, and after what they thought had been the main struggle was over, two lives had been lost. Not only that, but they were two lives that had been very dear to her, personally. She was unable to prevent a small rain of tears trickling from her eyes; this was the freest they'd flowed in a long while.
After this moment of tears, Haku again turned her attention to the Chaos Kin. Seeing it after what had just happened filled her with a rage, more fiery than before. Giving a sort of snarl, she began running at it again, swinging her giant sword with furious strength in an attempt to strike the fiend down to the ground. As she did so, she screamed in pure rage.

The Chaos Kin was struck by Haku's blade, and was sent crashing into the ground.

When Cookie witnessed the tragic scene, it very nearly drove her out of Rage Mode in that instant. She slowly made her way over, hunched over and dragging her feet, as tears began to well up in her eyes.
However, before Cookie could reach the scene, she heard the "thud" of the Chaos Kin violently colliding with the ground. Seeing it and remembering that it was at the root of all of this brought her rage screaming back, more uncontrollable than ever before. She let out a growl, which eventually erupted into an actual roar, then rushed to a truly enormous boulder nearby. Panting furiously, she dug her hands against it, and, in a terrifying display of strength, held it over her head as if it were nothing. As she did this, she gave another roar, then came running at the Chaos Kin. "I... WILL... CRUSH... YOU...!!!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

Jessie left Meowth on the ground. She took care to leave him in the open where a healer could reach him.

Then she ran over to the grounded Chaos Kin. James was already nearly beating its face in. She joined him, repeatedly stomping its head and body with the heel of her boot. "WE'VE HAD ENOUGH OF EVERYTHING YOU'VE PUT US THROUGH!" "DIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIEDIE!!"

Flint reeled and swiped at Rosalina with his hand "IT IS MY FAULT! I KILLD HIM! I KILLED HIM! I KILLED MY OWN DAD!" his speech was broken by a wave of sobbing. "i...i'm a murderer...."

His white fur which had been unusually bright all day, now began to truely glow. He stumbled away from his dead father, and looked at himself. "Guh....GAAHHHH!!!!" Suddenly he was lifted into the air, and the brightness became blinding. A weird, broken cry came from the light, and suddenly it dispersed. Flint fell.

he landed in a kneeling position. But... he didn't look right.... It was still Flint, but different. He was taller. His arms and legs were noticably longer, his hair was longer. Though not as long as Bullet's in back, his bangs were just about the same length as his main hair, and covered his right eye (left when facing him) completely. And. He had a dark grey star on the end of his longer, short haird tail. The color of the star matched his eye color.

Suddenly, he unfloded two huge, magnificent wings.

He looked at himself, and examined his tail in particular. Sharp, and shining. "So this is it." He thought with understanding. "this is the worst moment of my life."

Flint was now a fully grown Kattaca. Only slightly smaller then his father.

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT." James and Jessie paused their beatdown to see Flint's transformation. Jessie inquired. "Did he just..." "...evolve?" James finished.

Flint pinned his ears when he heard them "NO, I did NOT just EVOLVE." He snorted "I GREW UP." He lashed his tail irritably, as he turned his attention back to Bullet's body.

Rosalina gasped slightly and shifted backwards when Flint reacted to her statement. As much as she wanted to say something further to reassure him, she couldn't help feeling that words were simply not strong enough at the moment, so, with sadness, she stayed silent. Even if she had chosen to speak again, however, she wouldn't have been able to get one word out before Flint began to glow and float. Her eyes widened as she witnessed the miraculous scene that was unfolding before her.

Robin, too, watched wide-eyed as Flint's transformation took place. When his ally reappeared, he couldn't help feeling, in truth, amazed, despite the overall tragic atmosphere. He'd never seen anything like this before; a living being going from child to adult in a matter of seconds. However, the unusual nature of the phenomenon wasn't the reason behind his amazement. No, he felt truly happy for Flint, reaching such an important milestone... even if it came after such a tragedy. The moment was truly bittersweet. "... Welcome to adulthood," he told his ally in a serious, but vaguely warm tone. "You deserve it."

Cookie, oblivious to what was happening in her rage, threw the boulder she was holding at the Chaos Kin.

After being pounded on by Team Rocket, the Chaos Kin was on its last legs... as much as it could be, anyway. As it tried to get to its feet, it looked up to see the incoming boulder...

When the colossal rock landed on its target, it shook the ground briefly.

Flint twitched his tail at Robin's amazed comment. When the ground shook after the rock, Flint's attention was drawn to Cookie.

He realized the Chaos Kin was dead, and gave a soft, synical, satisfied smile. Nothing more.
"Its over." He said with a tone of finality, giving a flap his wings.

James was startled by the boulder's impact. Jessie shouted "WAIT IM NOT DONE!" Rolled it off the Chaos Kin and continued to stomp its body.

James looked around. Meowth lay motionless in the open. Flint's final form had been achieved. The Kin appeared defeated. He looked at Cookie. Then Flint. "Well done, both of you."

Jessie continued her beatdown. "Jessie, you can stop now." She kept going. "....Jessie?"

Robin simply nodded in response to Flint's words, then let out a deep sigh. Their quest had finally come to an end.

"You've all gone through so much," Rosalina commented gently. "But you triumphed in the end... Well done. All of you..."

Haku stood alone on the quiet battlefield, letting her red gaze scan across it. After everything that had happened, she was left feeling... entirely hollow. She looked down at the blade in her hands... Now that the fight was over, she had no need for it anymore. It was time to return it to where it belonged.
Grabbing her hammeraxe along the way, Haku dragged Biggoron's Sword along the ground as she made her way to Link's lifeless body. Then, she knelt down, carefully placed the enormous blade by his side, and silently dipped her head in respect, holding it in said position for some time.

Cookie had actually joined Jessie in her excessive, unnecessary pummeling. "RAH! RAAH! RUUUAAAAAHHHHH!!" She even grabbed the motionless Chaos Kin's tail and hurled it against another boulder, causing it to disintegrate into a pile of black "ashes".

All of a sudden, the black ashes reformed into the Chaos Kin. However, instead of beginning to fight again, it took off into the sky. Then, it seemed to release a massive wave of energy across the entire land before tearing a hole in the sky with its tail, flying in, and disappearing once and for all, the gap closing behind it.

Flint snarled as he watched it "PEST" he called after it. Then he walked up to Cookie, hoping to snap her out of her 'Rage Mode' He stood infront of her, and grabbed her shoulders "Snap out of it! It's over! No more fighting!" He clenched his fists against her shoulder, staring into her red eyes, unafraid, unlike how he had been terrified last time, and waited for them to return to normal.

"NO! Get BACK HERE! IM NOT DONE WITH YOU!!" James stopped her. "Jessie! Stop! It's over. He won't come back."

Jessie sat and cried quietly. She tried to hide her tears.

James got up and retrieved Meowth.

"Please...someone take care of him? Please...? He doesn't look good."

"That was an awful lot of trouble just for that thing to fly off..." Jessie lamented. "And not the good, double kind.
And it's over...."

As Lucina witnessed Flint's transformation, she remained speechless, as she had been for some time now. Though still stricken with grief over the tragic loss of their trusted, longtime comrade, she let out a near-undetectable breath of amazement, her solemn gaze brightening for just a moment at this incredible sight.

When she realized that the battle had finally, truly come to its end, Nagisa slowly stepped back out into the open. Her eyes still coated in a thin veil of teary mist from the tragedy that had taken place just moments ago, she somewhat slowly made her way over to James and the motionless Meowth. "I'm here..." she murmured tenderly to the catlike Pokémon, taking a small bottle of healing potion from her bag and dripping some into the palm of her hand. Then, gently, she began to rub the same hand across the catlike Pokémon's fur. "This should help him," she added softly, looking up at James.

Hearing Rosalina's words, Pit dipped his head to the wise guardian, a thorough sense of relief coursing through him. Then, eyes filled with much emotion, he glanced upward just as the Chaos Kin was disappearing into the sky and simply watched until it was no longer in sight.

"Ahh...I can breathe again~." Meowth sighed with contentment.

"Thank you," James spoke sincerely. He dug around and found a tattered rose, reserved for the motto. He shyly gave it to Nagisa and, cradling the recovering Meowth, returned to Jessie's position.

While she still recovered, he put an arm around her.

"What happened?? Did we win? Link died and, I heard someone else die...was it a bad dream??"

Jessie choked a little.

"Sorry, Meowth." James sighed. "We won. The Chaos Kin ran away for good. But Link and Bullet are dead."

"But...they were my pals," Meowth breathed in disbelief. Jessie reached out and grabbed Meowth and hugged him while he struggled to absorb the new information. The three shared a tearful group hug. There was neither noise nor waterfalls, which made it sadder somehow.

"I'm glad to see you're OK, Meowth..." Nagisa spoke warmly when Meowth regained consciousness, then gave a small, bashful smile when James handed her a tattered rose. "You're welcome... ... And thank you," she responded somewhat shyly with a light nod of her head and a soft chuckle. After he had returned to Jessie, she gazed around at the rest of her comrades to see if they were in need of anything as well.

Flint was doing fine physically. He watched TR with this annoyed expression. Then he closed his eye, his annoyance fading into solomness.

He still held onto Cookie, hoping she'd snap out of her rage soon. It felt much easier to hold her back for some reason.

Gradually, Cookie's muscles loosened, and her expression softened, taking on a sort of sleepy appearance before her eyes fell closed momentarily. When they reopened, the whites of her eyes had faded back to a normal color, though she still looked slightly groggy after everything. "F-Flint...?" she murmured, noticing that her friend seemed to have changed. She was still unaware of what had happened during her blind rampage.

Eventually, Haku stood again after remaining by Link's side for several moments, a single tear rolling down her cheek. After this, she turned her attention to the place where Bullet lay. Slowly, she made her way to his side, knelt down, dipped her head, and remained silent, just as she had done for Link. As she did so, she was remembering her journeys and time with these fallen allies.

Rosalina stared up at the area where the Chaos Kin had disappeared, looking somewhat concerned. "Hm... Something seems to have... changed," she commented. She felt a sort of disturbance ripple across the world when their enemy released energy before disappearing.

"Hey, Cookie." Flint said in a distant tone. Hey eyes betraying an annoyed tired expression rested on her. He had definately changed. If he didn't look so similar to Flint, he wouldn't be recingnizable. He let go of her, and put his hands on his hips. Giving his hands a flap.

He turned to face Haku, seeing her kneel near his dad in the corner of his eye. He glanced at Cookie, with in expression wondering if she was going to join him, he turned and crouched next to her.

"You were close. Weren't you." His tone was not in the slightest a question, but a statement of fact. He narrowed his eyes, feeling himself tense. This is all my fault... All because of me... I could have done ANYTHING literally ANYTHING else to both protect myself, and spare his life... But... GAAAHHH" He gently rubbed his forehead with one hand, leaning away from Haku a bit.

He was dragged out of his thoughts by Rosalina, but onlly reacted by glancing at her expectantly out of the corner of his eye. Team Rocket had already asked the question. He didn't need to speak.

Cookie, looking a little confused, followed Flint. When they got to Bullet's body, she gasped a bit as she stared down at their fallen ally, and tears came to her eyes. "Bullet...!"

"Hm..." Haku didn't speak, but merely gave a single, slow nod in response to Flint's words, gradually opening her eyes. "... He was a good friend," she murmured lowly, with a rough quality to her voice, before getting to her feet, herself. After standing, she gave a sigh, and stood silently for a little while.

After Flint stood again, Cookie gave him a hug. "I-I'm sorry," she sobbed quietly, though wishing she could find more meaningful words to express her sorrow for the Kattaca.

Although he didn't say anything, Robin turned his focus to Rosalina, as well, waiting to hear about what she had noticed. By the sound of it, it was something troubling.

"It seems that, before retreating, the Chaos Kin bathed this world in a sinister energy..." Closing her eyes, Rosalina took a moment to focus and determine what effect this had. "... It seems that a multitude of hostile beings from many different worlds, and some from none at all, are appearing all across this one," she explained to the others.

"Bring it on." Jessie growled a little. "I'll beat that one-eyed Yanma til it wishes it'd never hatched!"
