The Quests of Things: A Series of Epical Random Adventures

"And I have some ideas, too." Elizabeth winked.

"I think we could begin now," Rosalina added as she walked over to join the rest of the group, wondering to herself what Cookie and Elizabeth's ideas could be.

"What are you talking about? What thing…?" Penny inquired, trailing off when she noticed Rosalina walking up to them.

"Well, I thought of the idea of this thing," Liz explained. "That when you shout into it, whatever you were shouting about will randomly appear! Isn't that cool?"

"Yeah; like she said!" Cookie joined in, eager to start looking for the object. "Like for example, if I were to yell "CUPCAKE TIME!" into the thing, it would poof up a bunch of cupcakes for me! And then I'd go crazy," she laughed.

"Or, even better, 'KITTEN TIME!' I'd go REALLY crazy!" Liz laughed.

"Oh, look at us; we're getting distracted again already!" Cookie laughed. "I think we'd better get going now."

"Okay, sounds good." Elizabeth said.

"Is this thing even real?" questioned Penny a bit uncertainly with a slightly doubtful look beginning to spread across her face.

"We don't know yet." Elizabeth said. "So we're going to find out!"

Suddenly, an intimidating man with a suit and sunglasses walked up to them and flashed a badge.

"Agent Bobberson, Department of Exciting Random Property, or D.E.R.P. for short. Word is that you're all in search of a particularly valuable item?"

When the strange man appeared, Cookie jumped a little in surprise. "Oh, hey there!" she greeted with a merry smile. "Yup; and once we find it, I'm gonna make it poof up so many treats...! So, so many... treats..." She began to daydream a little.

"Hi, Bobberson!" Liz smiled. "Yeah. LOTS of treats." she laughed.

"Oh, hello!" Penny smiled with a little wave at Agent Bobberson. Great. Another human, and this one doesn't even look friendly like the others do…

"Hmm..." Agent Bobberson thought to himself. "One one hand, these good-for-nothing rascals could be using "treat" as a code word for some dangerous weapon! But on the other hand, treats are really, really good! What should I do in this situation?..."

After pondering his dilemma for a while, he finally reached a decision.

"The D.E.R.P. is very interested in observing this item in action. In exchange for letting me monitor this trip and take notes of what it does, I'll provide my assistance and the use of all the standard-issue D.E.R.P. technology. They could really come in handy if you reach some obstacles! What do you say?"

Cookie innocently tilted her head to one side as she listened to the agent speak. "Sure!" she finally spoke once he was finished speaking himself. "You seem cool; go right ahead and join us!"

"Hmm..." Liz muttered. She made her decision. "Okay, sounds good!"

Penny glanced around awkwardly for no particular reason. "Uh…" She thought for a minute, then finally sighed and nodded. "Um, sure, why not?" she forced herself to say. I don't want to be rude.

"Alrighty then!" Bobberson said while saluting. "Glad to be of assistance! So what have you discovered so far?"
