I wanted people's opinion on this

I was talking to Pineh and he brought up a music player we could put on the site if we wanted to. [Of course, only the admins can add it and add songs to the playlist.] I thought it would be really cool, since members wouldn't be able to randomly mess with the playlist and add anything offensive. It would also take up that annoying space at the top where the toolbar used to be. The link is here: http://scmplayer.net/

That is an excellent idea; it would be nice to have music playing right here on the site. c:
However, being my overly-careful self, I have a bit of a concern; song copyright. I'm concerned that it would be very, very easy to do something wrong, if someone were to add copyrighted music (which is ANY music, save for those in the public domain) to the playlist.

Ahh, I see your point.

I've seen plenty of websites with media players that have no issues with copyright, so I am not sure if we would.

I personally would love this, so long it could be muted!

I agree with Whiteh, but long as there aren't any copyright issues, I definitely think this is a good idea.

If copyright isn't an issue, then I think this is a great idea! Could there be something like a requests thread, where we could ask for songs to be reviewed and added if it fits the guidelines?

I added the same player to one of the forums I'm a part of, and it really didn't work out that great
like, for the first month or two everyone liked it, but afterwards... no one used it
we only kept it for a few months and we actually just got rid of it because honestly, no one really used it after the first month or two??

that might not be the case here, but still
