Why is this site so dead

At some point, I almost considered trying to liven up the site a little bit by trying to organize some kind of routine Pokémon battle thing, but then I realized that wouldn't go well for a few reasons. (Unless, of course, we used Pokémon Showdown, but still.)

I know it's probably saying a lot, and kinda narcissistic? I guess? To assume that I'm the catalyst that holds the place together? :P And it's probably not true anyway

But IDK like people come on the chat when I come on and when I was active the whole site was active and now that I'm not active the whole site is semi-dead.

I'm just dealing with school and crunch time and desperately behind trying to catch up on school, and grandparents that I mentioned earlier. My social energy is drained on a daily basis so I have none left to share with you guise D:

BUT DON'T WORRY I'll come back soon and then I'm guessing the site will too. Sorry again for the deadness (if I'm even the cause :P) but I seriously don't believe it's forever.

In the meantime, feel free to reply to RPs. I still have big plans for Floatzalcalypse. XD

Idk, I think you're at least part of the reason. You definitely aren't the only major user who's currently inactive. But your absence is still probably a contributing factor to the situation.

xDDD Actually, I'm sort of inclined to agree with you. Even if the whole site doesn't depend on you being active or inactive, we tend to have a lot of crazy fun times when you (and Twister and Misty and I and-*is slapped*) are active a lot.
Really, though, I think the wild blab sessions that you, I, Twister, and Misty have together have at least a little to do with keeping things active, since people come on, see a bunch of people on the CB, and feel like joining in, too.

This is not, in any way, some kind of guilting thing, though. It's just an observation, and I'm not demanding that you drop everything and come back right away. xD Life stuff needs attention first.

Perhaps a competition or some sort of event could be introduced? I could also maybe advertise the club on my Tumblr and once they join we send them this way? Just an idea.

I'm not active anymore for lots of reasons, mainly problems irl, and if something happens and I'm in a bad mood I don't want to bring that here y'know
I'm assuming stuff I'm having to deal with irl isn't going to stop in summer, but I think I probably will get more chances to be on the computer than usual. Right now I'm really busy with schoolwork and I'll probably keep doing school in summer to get ahead but it won't be as much/as exhausting sooo
maybe I'll come on more in the summer idk

I'd love to have new members cause we haven't had any for awhile, but I've...never liked tumblr's community too much lol
no idea where else you could advertise it though
and besides Jules and I I'm pretty sure everyone else is either on tumblr or doesn't mind it, so if there was a poll or something, we'd lose by a long shot

tumblr's community is nightmarish though and I'm mostly doing this for their sake because I would probably start a fight or something by yelling at them and all of you guys would hate me if you already don't which would surprise me

Oh dear. If they ever come here, then I suggest we make a group only for us. Then, we can make things such as our RP boards only viewable by that group. Hopefully a special CB tab for us, too. I'm sorry, but we need some safe place, away from the chaos. xD I've heard many Tumblr horror stories, and want no part of that nonsense.

… There are a lot of people contributing to it lol, probably including me because despite the fact that I still do lurk here frequently, I never have anything good to say oops

Recently, I came up with another theory about why the site's dead. It could just be something as simple as everyone keeping to themselves more than they used to, or it could even have to do with the formation of ultra-tight "micro-cliques" on the site.
I'm not going to lie here; the CB always dies, even with people online, unless it includes certain combinations of members. I'm not trying to criticize anyone; it's an honest observation. I'm probably guilty of contributing to it, too. o3o If this is the case, though, reviving the site could be as incredibly easy as opening our minds back up.

Yeah, I suppose you're right. I have this problem, because I've become a lot more antisocial than I was in the past and would much rather spend time with one specific person than talking to everyone. It used to be a fun activity for me, but now, I just get kind of anxious when tons of people are on the CB. It's a lot easier for me to care about a select few people and push the others away than it is for me to just get up and socialize, even if it's just socializing through the Internet.
Another factor contributing to my absence is probably just the general lack of focus I have. I get on the CB and disappear without warning because I forget I was ever there and probably went off to watch some pointless video or reply to some comment on WI or laugh at how stupid tumblr is.
I don't know why these problems have grown worse than they were in the past. I mean, I didn't used to be the most socially-oriented person ever, but I at least appreciated people and knew how to talk to them. I was kinder to people then, and we would actually have fun on the CB in those times. That feels almost foreign to me now.
I've never been horribly focused, either. But the issue of my focus just worsens and worsens over time, it seems. As much as I regret many of the things I've said and done in the past, I sort of wish I at least remembered how to not be an insensitive jerk.
That was a lot longer than I anticipated.

Fret not; I think the reason behind the troubles you've described there is just the fact that you're entering adolescence. Many, many people experience difficulties like that during that period of their life. That's probably all. c: Actually, you're probably not the only one on this site currently going through the same thing, even.
