Roseblossom nodded and went back to doing nothing, still keeping an eye on Clanstar.

Cometkit was still in awe of the beauty."Yes Firestar, stuff is going on that I don't understand," she replied. "Is there something we should do?"

Clanstar looked up into Roseblossom's eyes "I... know that I said I didn't need anything earlier, but now I think I'm getting real mousedung thirsty." He rolled onto his side "Would you mind getting me some?" Roseblossom replied with a curt nod. She walked to the bank to get some. Picking up a chip of moss to put the water on, she was about to scoop out a few drops when she looked at the goopy gray polluted water. She screamed and ran back to tell Clanstar.

"We... we think that StarClan's being polluted..." Firestar stammered, looking down. "I just hope all this damage isn't permanent"

Roseblossom ran back as quickly as she could. "Clanstar. I know you wanted water but, when I went to get some it was all gray and polluted." she told Clanstar, terrified.

"Don't worry, we'll find out what's wrong." Starstar asured her handsome StarClan mate in a soft voice. She turned to face the two. "What he wants to say is that we need you to find what's polluted and what caused it to be as soon as I can." Shimmerflight and Cometkit nodded. "We'll try our best, Starstar." Shimmerflight replied. Starstar sighed in relief "Oh, good." Firestar also looked relieved. "Y-you can leave now." He said, still mildly stammering. "Okay, Firestar." they both said in unison and walked out, worried looks on their faces.

Spottedleaf was waiting outside, pacing back and forth. She saw both coming out. "Shimmerflight! Cometkit!" Spottedleaf yelled out to them. Cometkit explained what'd happened inside to her, with every detail. "Oh, is that really what happened?" She asked, frightened at the huge task put ahead of them. "I guess then we'll go check with Clanstar and Roseblossom."

A couple seconds, and they were off. Approaching the lake, they both saw Roseblossom and Clanstar exchanging worried looks and immediately rushed up to them. "Roseblossom, what went wrong?!"

"I- . . I don't know!" Roseblossom stammered, panicked. "I went to get some water for Clanstar, and it was all, gray and . ., It wasn't my fault!!!"

Spottedleaf opened her eyes wide open. "Show us the water!"

"Over here, Spottedleaf!" Roseblossom started running back to the lake.

Spottedleaf followed Rosey, gaping at the polluted lake. "Shimmer! Comet!" she screamed back "Come over here!"

Roseblossom continued to stare at the lake in shock.

Cometkit went up to the lake beside them. She sniffed the water, then backed up, terrified.

"Yeah," Roseblossom mewed, worry in her voice. "But how could something this bad happen? And how was it able to happen in STARCLAN?!"

"I have no idea, is there anything we can do?" Then Cometkit added in a whisper, "I'm scared."

"Me too," Roseblossom whispered back.

"Well, remember what Firestar said about StarClan pollution?" Shimmerflight turned to Cometkit. "I think we've found our first piece of evidence."

"But how do we fix it?" Roseblossom asked.

"Would we have to leave StarClan to see where it came from... or something?" Cometkit was a little excited at thought of exploring beyond her born territory.

"I guess so," Roseblossom said.

"Hmm, okay. We should tell Firestar and see if he thinks we should," Cometkit meowed.

"Okay!" Roseblossom said. "Um, where is he?"
