Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Riding a train to a Ranked Battle - Tagged: Kyle
By now, the train had left for its destination several moments ago.
"Hey, we very well could," Marie commented, casually crossing one leg over the other, stretching, and bringing her arms up behind her head, resting the back of it on them and kicking back even more. "My stop's near Blackbelly Skatepark. You?" she asked the boy, idly "tapping" her dangling foot in the air.

Kyle - Male, 16 - Location: Riding a train to a Ranked Battle - Tagged: Marie
"Blackbelly Skatepark... That's where I'm headed, too, actually," Kyle responded, glancing outside briefly to see how close they were to their destination. "Looks like we'll probably be in the same battle, after all...!" he noted, some excitement showing through in his still-relaxed tone.

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Riding a train to a Ranked Battle - Tagged: Kyle
"Cool...!" Marie remarked, giving a slight grin. "Can't wait to see what happens... Heh. What if we ended up being, like, rivals or whatevs...?" she commented, wondering if the two would end up facing each other or working together. "If we do end up being opponents... sorry in advance for splattin' ya," she told him, grinning in a mischievous, slightly joking way.

Kyle - Male, 16 - Location: Riding a train to a Ranked Battle - Tagged: Marie
"Ooh... That would be interesting," Kyle replied, a thoughtful look on his face. Much like Marie, he wondered if the two of them would be on the same team or opposing teams for the coming battle. "Heheh... It's cool," he laughed a little. Though the green and gray-tentacled Inkling seemed to have a lighthearted expression, he had a gut feeling that she would indeed be a formidable opponent.

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Heading to Blackbelly Skatepark - Tagged: Kyle
Suddenly, Marie felt the train come to a stop. "Ah... Well, guess we've arrived," she remarked, grabbing her Charger and bag and slowly rising to her feet. "See you on the tower," she said to him, resting her Charger over her shoulder and calmly stepping off of the train. At her own pace, she strolled in the direction of the skatepark.

Kyle - Male, 16 - Location: Heading to Blackbelly Skatepark - Tagged: Marie
"Oh, hey, you're right," Kyle noted, grabbing his own Charger when the train stopped moving and sliding off of his seat. With a nod, he waved to Marie and exited the train a moment after her, his pace picking up a little as he headed towards the skatepark.

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark - Tagged: (none)
Looking at a small card she was given shortly before heading to the train station, Marie learned she was on the pale-blue team for this game of Tower Control, facing off against the orchid team. Turning the correct color for the match, she strolled to where her team was to gather, grabbing an ink tank and strapping it to her back. She sat her bag just outside of the battlefield's boundaries, then stepped in, waiting on her spawn point. "M here, ready to go," she announced, taking her spot on the pad. Of course, hiding her identity, she couldn't use her real name here, so she simply went by "M".

Kyle - Male, 16 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark - Tagged: (none)
Kyle glanced down at the card in his hand as he reached the skatepark, learning that he, too, would be on the pale-blue team this time. Turning this color, he went to get an ink tank for himself, strapped it to his back, and headed to his team's spawn point. "Kyle here!" he spoke, getting into a ready position to begin. Quickly, he noticed that the Inkling he had spoken with earlier was among his teammates, and turned to her for a moment with a grin.

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Kyle
"Eh?" Marie turned her head to look at the Inkling standing beside her. Upon seeing who it was, she responded to his grin with one of her own, giving a wave. "Yo! ... Kyle!" she greeted, giggling a little. "Heh. I forgot to ask your name earlier... That's no problem now. Anyway... good luck!"
For a brief moment, Marie appeared to examine her Charger. Apparently noticing something of some importance, she seemed to press some sort of well-hidden button, causing the weapon to emit an odd, but very quiet sound, almost like a small device powering down. The lights on the back end of the Charger flashed green briefly, then turned to blue and continued to just fade in and out gently. After doing this, she examined the weapon once more, then gave a small, satisfied nod. Whatever the problem was, it had apparently been resolved.
Once all of the Inklings gathered on both sides, the countdown began. When it reached zero, the signal to begin blared through the air.
Marie instantly charged and shot a trail of ink towards the half-pipe side-path to their right. She had a particular sniping perch in mind, and wasted no time getting there. Near the end of the path, she inked the wall to her left and swam up, perching on the ledge. From here, she could definitely keep a good eye on things. She created a tiny ink puddle where she stood, then swiftly became a squid, hiding and waiting for the right opportunity to either strike or advance.

"Haha; thanks," Kyle chuckled in response. "Good luck to you, too," he added with a friendly smile. Then, just as he was about to turn his gaze ahead, he noticed Marie looking over her Charger for a moment and seemingly pressing some kind of... button? What kind of Charger is that, anyway...? he wondered, pushing the thought aside when he heard the signal to begin.
Quickly, Kyle made a path straight ahead with his Charger and entered his squid form, swimming through the inky trail. When he reached the base of the Central Tower, he inked a trail going up the wall so he and his teammates could climb it. However, instead of continuing his advance right away, he placed a Squid Beakon where he stood, dipping into a patch of ink to refill his tank afterward.

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Kyle, etc.
Suddenly, Marie spotted an Inkling with a Luna Blaster rapidly approaching Kyle, having spotted his Squid Beakon. She gasped slightly, but remained calm, rising out of the ink and preparing a shot. She didn't have much time to think about aiming, so she just went for it. Thankfully, she managed to swiftly take down her target, though he did fire a shot before being splatted. It was a little too far back to be a direct hit, though.

When he saw the Luna Blaster-wielding Inkling approaching him rapidly, Kyle's eyes widened slightly, and he prepared himself to start firing weak streams of ink in defense. However, before the situation could take a turn for the worse, it seemed that one of his teammates had swiftly taken care of things. Breathing a sigh of relief, he glanced to his side and spotted Marie, realizing that she must have been the one to come to his rescue. "Phew... Thanks!" he called to her, then transformed into a squid to swim up the side of the wall he had recently inked.
Things didn't stay peaceful for long, however; at that moment, a rival Inkling with a Splash-o-matic had reached the Tower and was beginning to ride it ahead.

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Kyle, etc.
"No prob!" Marie called back to Kyle, flashing a grin. However, she then noticed the tower slowly moving towards their goal, going to pass by her perch along the way. "...! Oh no you don't," she grumbled, taking aim and chucking a Splat Bomb onto the tower in an attempt to drive whoever was on it off.
One of Kyle and Marie's allies, wielding a Tentatek Splattershot, began moving in to assist the team in taking the tower. She tossed a Suction bomb onto the slender post in the tower's enter after Marie's bomb had exploded. Then, she began inking the tower's side.

Climbing to the top of the platform in the center, Kyle watched as a Splat Bomb landed on the moving tower, and he aimed his Charger in its direction for extra support.
Seeing the Splat Bomb land by his feet, the Inkling with the Splash-o-matic began to panic slightly and abandoned the tower, causing it to come to a stop. Now standing in pale blue ink, the orchid-tentacled Inkling struggled to make his escape and, in one last effort to keep his rivals away from the tower, turned to Marie and Kyle's ally and started firing ink.
Kyle, seeing this scene, quickly pointed his Charger toward the rival Inkling and released a stream of ink. As he was already quite weakened, this easily finished him off, and Kyle realized that there didn't seem to be any other opposing Inklings around at the moment. "Quick, guys! I think the tower's open!" he called to his teammates.

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Kyle, etc.
"Alright! Let's snatch it!" In squid form, Marie leaped from her perch, landing on the tower and making a "sploosh" sound as she entered the ink covering it. After she had landed, she transformed back, Charger at the ready.
"I'll watch your backs!" the Tentatek Splattershot-wielding Inkling called, choosing not to board the tower, and instead stay on the move as she helped defend it.

Kyle - Male, 16 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Marie, etc.
While Marie was leaping from her perch to get to the tower, Kyle couldn't help noticing the unique design surrounding her eyes in squid form. He felt like it reminded him of something, but he knew he couldn't spend time dwelling on such a random thought in the middle of battle. A moment later, when his ally had landed, he quickly became a squid and leaped down to join her, then returned to his humanoid form. Then, turning back to their Tentatek Splattershot-wielding ally, he gave a nod. "Sounds good!"

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Kyle, etc.
Suddenly, Marie began firing repeatedly, inking as much turf as possible... when she wasn't skillfully picking off the occasional carelessly-approaching enemy. "Just charging up my Bomb Rush," she explained to Kyle as he landed beside her. "It could seriously come in handy. Only a crazed squid would actually try swimming through a field full of Splat Bombs!" Once she had her Bomb Rush charged and ready to unleash when the time came, she returned to focusing entirely on defending the tower as the two rode it down the other side of the arena's large, central pillar.

Kyle - Male, 16 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Marie, etc.
"Right! Good thinking..." Kyle commented, briefly spraying a few trails of ink to help charge his own weapon's Special. Then, as the tower moved over the large pillar, he turned to face in the direction opposite of Marie, steadily holding his Charger forward.

Suddenly, an enemy Tentatek Splattershot-user crept up to the tower, throwing a Suction Bomb at its central pillar and inking the side, intending to board.

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Kyle, etc.
Marie, who had been distracted with guarding the opposite side of the tower, was caught off-guard by the enemy Inkling's sudden approach. She turned her head to see a Suction Bomb no more than an arm's length away. "Oh snap; retreat! Retreat!" she cried, not even pausing to leave a Splat Bomb as she leaped off of the tower, just barely making it before the bomb exploded.

Kyle - Male, 16 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Marie, etc.
"Ehh?" Glancing over when he heard Marie's cry, Kyle instantly spotted the enemy Suction Bomb and gasped, leaping off of the tower just as it was exploding. Though he had managed to mostly escape it, the flying ink from the explosion ended up weakening him a fair amount, leaving him open a potential finishing blow.

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Kyle, etc.
Marie, who had gotten on top of the central pillar by now, looked down to see her ally in a bad situation. "Kyle!!" she cried, staring down at the scene. If there were any time to unleash a storm, it would be now. Furrowing her brows, she activated her Bomb Rush. One after another, she hurled Splat Bombs down on the scene, even occasionally throwing a few in other, random directions to discourage would-be sneak attackers.
Though they behaved exactly as expected, the bombs raining down on the battlefield from above had an interesting appearance. Unlike the brightly-colored green-and-red-framed bombs commonly seen in ink battles, these had a sleeker, much more futuristic appearance. They had a thick, sleek, black frame, accented at the corners by patterns of blue lights.

(Totally forgot to describe these bombs the first time one was used. o3o Let's just pretend the scene was so hectic that nobody really noticed their different appearance.)

Although, at first, she began closing in to finish Kyle off, the Tentatek user quickly realized she was in a terribly dangerous situation. However, by then, it was too late; she was caught up in one of the many ink-explosions and splatted, just as she was about to super-jump away.

Kyle - Male, 16 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Marie, etc.
As the Tentatek-wielding Inkling started to close in on him, Kyle pressed his back against the central pillar and desperately began charging his weapon, fearing that there was no escape from this situation.
Right at that moment, however, a flurry of what appeared to be Splat Bombs suddenly began falling all around Kyle and the Tentatek user, catching him somewhat off-guard. Quickly glancing upward, he spotted none other than Marie, who had apparently been the one throwing the unusual-looking bombs from above. Then, returning his gaze to the area in front of himself, he realized that his attacker was nowhere to be seen; he figured his ally's Splat Bombs- at least, that's what he assumed they were- must have done their job successfully. "Eheh... That was close," he exhaled, looking slightly embarrassed over having two close-calls in such a short time. "Thanks again, uh... M!" he added gratefully, taking a moment to remember what the other Charger user had said her name was.

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Kyle, etc.
"Ha! Again, no probs," Marie responded, giving a chuckle and a crooked little grin. "Now let's get outta here before they can try that again!" In squid form, she jumped down onto the tower, transforming back just before hitting the surface, then motioned for Kyle to join her once more.

The pale blue team's own Tentatek user briefly ran by. "Ngh! Sorry, guys," she apologized to Kyle and Marie, "I shouldn't have let that happen!"

"Hey, it's been taken care of. It's cool," Marie responded calmly as she rode the tower, giving a small nod of her head.

Kyle - Male, 16 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Tagged: Marie, etc.
With a nod, Kyle inked the side of the tower and speedily swam up to join Marie. Taking a brief moment to adjust his Octoglasses, which had become sort of crooked in the heat of battle, he glanced back at his Tentatek using ally. "Yeah; it's cool," he added after Marie, smiling reassuringly.

Meanwhile, the pale blue team's other member, who wielded a Range Blaster, swam along beside the tower, ready to pop out of the ink to assist her teammates whenever she was needed.

The pale blue Tentatek user was quite determined now, feeling like she had to make up for letting an enemy get so close to stealing the tower and splatting her teammates. She hung behind the tower, not intending to allow anyone to sneak up on it from behind.

Marie - Female, 17 - Location: Blackbelly Skatepark (Tower Control) - Taged: Kyle, etc.
With her and Kyle's determined allies working so hard to defend the tower on the ground, Marie relaxed slightly. However, she still kept her eyes as sharp as ever. Just to be safe, she tossed one of her distinctive-looking Splat Bombs ahead to drive away anyone who may be hiding along the tower's path. Then, she simply watched her surroundings, Charger at the ready. Things seemed a little quiet... at least for now.
