The Great 'Locke (For Fellow 'Mon Lovers)

Something was wrong… The day seemed darker somehow. I picked up Gypsy, my Sylveon.. Now almost level 100, and stroked her head, for comfort. She made a soft squeak back to me.. She, and all the others, could feel my tension.

I released Twilight, my Dragonite from her poke’ball, and hopped on her back. “Twilight, take us to Route 2… I need to catch some random Zigzagoon, so that if something goes terribly wrong… I can help Katie save her poke’mon..” Twilight looked at me. Her eyes wide with worry. “It’s ok. I’ll have her do the same, for your sake.”

Twilight nodded. I returned Gypsy to her poke’ball, and Twilight took to the air. We flew over all of Kalos.. I looked down at the beautiful cities, and towns below. All of which I had visited at some-point on my journey. I noticed… There was no one there. Not a soul. And even though evening was coming, I saw no lights on in the houses, or the gyms. Even Luminos was pitch black.

Twilight made a soft sound I stroked her neck “What’s wrong girl? You all seem a bit off today.” She just lowered her head. I sighed. I knew wouldn’t get a straight answer from her. We landed on route 2… Even though I searched, and searched, it was very difficult to encounter any poke’mon. Eventually, I caught enough poke’mon to save all my friends I had obtained over the course of the journey.

“Alright, Twilight. Let’s head back to Snowbelle for more training.” Twilight nodded. I climbed on her back, and we took to the air once more.

Suddenly… Something hit Twilight in the wing. She screamed, and started falling towards the ground I couldn’t tell what had hit her, all I knew, was it was coming back for another round!

“TWILIGHT! GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!! WE NEED TO MOVE!!!” She groaned. Forcing herself to stretch her wings out, and catch us in the air. Then with one might shove of her wings, she was dashing off, just dodging the shadow’s attack. She turned towards it. “Ok, Twilight.. Get in close for a Dragon Claw!” She Dashed forward. One of her hands started glowing, as we approached.

She slashed at the shadow with her Dragon Claw the Shadow turned towards us, and started glowing “Twilight, that’s Copy Cat! Dodge it!” Twilight Dodged, barley missing the glowing claws of the Shadow. Twilight dashed forward. Slashing once more with her Dragon Claw. The Shadow’s Dragon Claw stopped Twilight’s, like swords… Who gave, would pay the price Twilight groaned. “USE FLY!” I ordered. Twilight dashed higher into the sky, her belly being slashed by the shadow

She groaned. Hanging in the air, gasping. I spritzed her with a Hyper Potion.. My last one.

“Now.. ATTACK!” She dove straight down. I couldn’t hold on, and my hands let go of her shoulders. I started tumbling down Twilight slammed as hard as she cloud into the shadow. Sending it falling, but it caught itself, and charged right back up. Twilight dodged, swooping right under me, and catching me I gasped. “Ok, Twilight, use Surf” Twilight lured the shadow (Whom was trying to attack again) down to a river, which she slammed with her tail. Creating  a big wave.. She landed on the wave. Using her flat feet to ride the top.

As the water crashed over the shadow, she slammed him with a hard punch. As soon as the punch was landed, she took to the air again. Watching the water slosh over the grassy terrain. The Shadow used Copy Cat. “TWILIGHT!” I screamed watching the large wave approach us. Then it slammed over us, The shadow suddenly formed inside the wave, and slammed Twilight right in the throat.

Almost KOing her. I gasped, I had only now seen the Shadow up close for a decent amount of time. I now knew what the Shadow was. “OK, Twilight, GET ME TO VANIVILLE TOWN! NOW!” Twilight barely conscious, flew with all speed to Vaniville. She flew though the air, flying faster then she had ever flown under her own power, and not using gravity, as you do in Fly..

The shadow chased us. I watched it, my teeth clenched I knew that it really wasn’t following us… Suddenly, it broke off it’s course following us, and headed left, away from us… Suddenly a pixelated wall appeared.“Oh no… I wasn’t wrong!”

The Shadow slammed itself into the pixelated wall, and disappeared. The wall started to crack… Then chip, then a pretty large portion just shattered. Leaving a purple void in it’s place.

Twilight gasped… She seemed to be struggling to breathe.. “Twilight?” I stroked her “Keep going! Just a little longer! Your almost safe!” I looked at my other’s poke’mon’s poke’balls. They were starting to crack and crumple. “Please hurry, Twilight… For everyone’s sake!”

Twilight suddenly fainted.. And we fell down to earth. Twilight and I slammed into Route 1’s soft soil. I returned Twilight to her poke’ball, and ran to Vaniville town. On the way, I noticed dark, pitch black clouds covering the evening sky. I closed my eyes. Not long now..

I entered Katie’s house.. It was next to mine. “KATIE! I NEED YOUR HELP!” Katie looked up from what she was doing, and rushed after me outside. I freed all my poke’mon from their poke’balls. Just before they all crumpled.

“Please.” I said. Feeling a tear streak down my cheek. All my poke’mon turned towards me. Looks of utter confusion, and dismay on their sweet innocent faces. I reached down

. “Take care of them, OK?” Katie kneeled down, stroking Spyre, and Gypsy’s head “Ok… What’s going on..” I handed Katie my poke’mon’s crumpled poke’balls. As soon as Katie touched them, they were all restored to perfect condition.

Katie gasped. “What…” I stood up… Starting to back away, I said. “The ‘Locke… The ‘Locke is coming… I couldn’t stop it..” I heard thunder overhead, turned, and ran. I heard Spyre’s pitiful  howl behind me.. I had to ignore it… I couldn’t keep them any longer.

I ran I ran as far as I could. The purple void growing steadily bigger, consuming the skies above, and the ground below. I was beginning to have touble dodging the little patches of void on the ground.. Suddenly Yveltel appeared out of the void. He hovered above me, screeching. I screamed… Scrambling backwards Yveltel flew at me. Knocking me backwards, into a patch of void.

“That was a terrible dream, Lizz!” My mom gasped. Her eyes wide, as she listened to me describe my dream. I stroked Forest, my Fennekin’s head. “Yeah! Then I remember watching the world above be swallowed up by that void I described.. Then I woke up.”

My mom sighed. “Well, you’d better be going. Professor Sycamore wants to see you.” I nodded “Ok!” I rushed out the door Forest squealing happily. “Just remember what your mom told you, Lizz… In this world.. Poke’mon…Can…Die…And promise me… You will only catch the first poke’mon you see in an area? If you don’t… That poke’mon will die, once inside the poke’ball.”

I rushed through to Luminos… By the time I got there, I had 5 poke’mon total. Forest, the Fennekin, Swirls, the Zigzagoon Splash, the Azurill, Skittish, the Skitty, Igniter, the Fletchling

All my poke’mon and I had battled together allot. I felt we were ready for our professor. Forest was actually close to evolving. I walked into the lab… I was guided to the 3rd floor, where professor Sycamore was waiting. Oh, I had no idea what would befall me at that evil third floor.

Professor Sycamore turned to me. “Ah Lizz! Your poke’dex is doing well… So, may I challenge you? I warn you, I’m NOT very good.” There was a look in his eye that told me otherwise, but I ignorantly ignored it.

Our first opponent was Bulbasaur. I laughed “FOREST GO!” My sweet little Fennekin leaped out onto the field. “USE EMBER!” The Bulbasaur was an easy KO.  Our next opponent was Squirtle… That Squirtle… I quickly pulled Forest back, and sent out Swirls. “Ok, Swirls! Use Tackle!” “This has GOT to do allot! If it doesn’t, I’m in big trouble…”  

It did barely anything to Squirtle. Squirtle used his Watergun… And I pulled Swirls back. Sending out Igniter. “OK, Igniter, your not Fire Type YET… Just take his attacks, OK? I want you to use Peck!”

It did considerable damage… The Squirtle used Headbut on Igniter… It brought him down to red in two hits. I pulled him back. Sending out Splash “This isn’t good.. Am I ready for this?”

I wasn’t. Soon, all of my poke’mon were down to red health… I had to sacrifice one… “I…Igniter… Please… I am sorry.” I sent him back into battle. He panted… Flying seemed to be trouble.. “Ok… Use Peck!” His peck did barely anything, and the Squirtle used headbutt once more… Igniter screamed, falling down into my arms.

Now, I am sure most of you have held a dead bird before.. It is a very sad sight.. Igniter’s lifeless body was no exception. A tear fell from my eye. I stroked his soft feathers.

“I am so sorry…” “Your death was in vain! I have to sacfrifice another pokemon!” Soon, I only had Forest left. And the Squirtle finally fainted. Forest panted. He was barely living. Our next and final opponent came into battle. I looked at him… I didn’t know what to do. Forest snarled. Crouching forward to attack once more. “FOREST DON’T! I CAN’T LOOSE YOU TOO!” I sobbed. Holding Forest’s dead comrades.

Forest used ember, it did allot. The Charmander used Ember back. Killing Forest.

I fell to my knees. Beginning to sob. “NO!! PLEASE NO!” Tears streaked down my face. Professor Sycamore walked up to me. “I am so sorry… Here… Take one of the poke’mon you battled as apology..” I looked at the poke’balls. I chose Bulbasaur.. the only one who had not killed a teammember of mine.

My team was gone… And with this Bulbasaur, which I had named Leafso, would be my starter from now on.
