When people say Chinese, Mandarin, and Cantonese are all different languages. >.<#

Mandarin and Cantonese ARE Chinese, and they're not separate languages, they're more like variations. If you speak Chinese, it's either Mandarin or Cantonese. Cantonese is older and isn't really spoken by many people today (only in some areas), and Mandarin is what most people speak today.

So yeah, Chinese is basically what you'd call it, while Mandarin and Cantonese are variations of Chinese.

Not at all a serious "this destroys my soul's soul" thing, but a more amusing "argh" thing:

When I'm playing Rainmaker in Splatoon 2 with a Brella, we break the Rainmaker's shield, and everyone just hangs around doing nothing productive at all while I protect it with my Brella's canopy, waiting for someone to pick it up so I can protect them on the way to the goal.
I think it's pretty obvious that I don't want to take it when I could be playing a defensive role so effectively. If I wanted the "take the thing and run" role, I wouldn't just be standing right beside it like a squidiot. OTL

That moment when your go somewhere to help, and

1) There isn't much for you to do.

2) Someone gives you the freedom to leave because there isn't much or you to do, but they also subtly encourage you help this one person, and they ask in earshot of that person, and you want to leave because you KNOW your gonna end up just standing around, but now that the person heard the other person offer your help for you, you feel guilty if you choose to leave, and annoyed if you choose to stay.

Double post but-

CAN PEOPLE PLEASE NOT SMOKE IN NON-SMOKING AREAS?!

Like, I dunno about most people around, they might not care, but like what about people with health problems? People could have asthma and be really affected by this.

As a person who probably has some kind of asthma (I have trouble breathing when I do exercises, not only the really difficult kind, but also like doing short runs and stuff. Like, I’ve had to run to my bus stop sometimes in the mornings when I notice the bus coming early, and the bus stop it stops at is not even that far), I feel really uncomfortable when people smoke near me. I feel like I’m about to stop breathing. It’s not fun.

Also, this is mostly kids my age I’m talking about. Most adults know they should smoke in designated areas. And like, these kids should be arrested or something ‘cause the legal age over here is eighteen, and um, they’re not at that age.

Of course, smoking is a bad idea, especially if you’re still in school. ~~If you smoke, your grades are gonna drop and then you fail and never graduate, never go to college, and you end up working at McDonald’s or whatever.~~ Then again, no one even cares around here if they do well in school anyway. :/

When people don't respond to your texts -.-

I. HATE. THIS!!!

Especially when it's an important text, like, I dunno "where are you" or "what time do you want me to come" Like, REALLLYYYY??! Or if it's like, a serious, feels ridden text too, and it's huge and long, and then the other person doesn't respond, it feels like they don't care.

Do it enough, and I'll feel like I'm the only one putting effort into our relationship, and that hurts. (I know it's stupid xD I know it's wrong to feel that way, but blech, I can't help it) I don't know... Just... Please take 2 seconds, and respond when someone's trying to talk to you, ok? Even if it's over text.

^^ Oh yup, same. I’ve had it when people would take MORE THAN A DAY to respond to just one text I wrote. If my text wasn’t all that important anyway, I wouldn’t mind, but if I REALLY needed to talk to the person right away I’d get pretty impatient. I mean, I understand that everyone has a life and won’t be able to respond right away, but if it has to take years to respond, what are you even doing?
And also, I hate it when people have time to post and be on social media but not send a reply to my text message. Like, I’ve seen people just post away and stuff on social media (during/after I sent the text).
But then again, they may have gotten their phone taken away and they’re just using another device to post, I dunno, but still. Most of the time, people are on their phones rather than other devices :P

Also, another thing is when they leave you on “read” and don’t respond at all. Like, you opened my message but did you even actually read it or did you just open it to get rid of the notification?

That's so annoying! I also hate the whole "wait x amount of time to text back" thing, like sometimes I'm guilty of intentionally waiting a couple minutes if they took like 2 hours to respond to me so it doesn't look like I was waiting for their text or something but when people intentionally wait like an hour?? Like if you want to talk to someone do it. Same with double texting, it shouldn't be a big deal imo

Yeah, exactly! Who even cares when you text back? I normally text back right away, but that's only when I have my phone in my hands. Otherwise, I respond when I next take my phone out of my pocket. I've never really had intentionally wait for a few minutes or more. I just respond when I respond :P But yeah, it really is annoying, that whole thing. Just talk to the person, there's no shame in responding "too quickly."
And ye, double texting isn't that big of a deal either. I normally do that if I forget to say something in the first text, or I have to correct myself. As long as it's not spam (as in, like, literally a million texts), then it's no big deal, really. ~~Also, my phone sometimes glitches and sends the same message twice, lol~~

I sometimes send like each sentence or thought as a separate text so I guess it's just how I type, it shouldn't be a big deal the whole texting rules culture is so annoying
