Nursery and Joining

Leafkit snarled. "No bird is going to randomly fall out of the sky because you WANT it to, mouse-brain! There are NEWBORN kits who are smarter than you!" Leafkit was beginning to act rudely out-of-character.

"There are kits who AREN'T BORN YET who are smarter than YOU!" Patchkit snarled.

Leafkit began to get very annoyed. "I've HAD it with you!"

Alright, no more pretending to be the good one! Patchkit lunged at Leafkit, claws unseathed.

"Patchkit!" yowled Leafkit in terror, dashing out of the way just in time to miss Patchkit's claws that were aimed for her neck.

Falconkit stared at Patchkit, eyes wide with horror. He stepped in front of Leafkit defensively. "What's wrong with you?! Are you trying to make her nightmares come true? She doesn't deserve your abuse!" He yowled at Patchkit.

Leafkit stopped acting out of character and stared at Patchkit, eyes wide, watery, and filled with terror. "Have I done something wrong?" she whimpered. "I'm sorry I snapped at you, but..." Leafkit put her face in her paws and began to cry.

"Okay, I'm sorry." Patchkit sighed. "I just kinda lost my temper." Inside, she was happy that she almost killed Leafkit.

Lost her temper? Yeah, right! That's way worse! "Don't do it again...!" mewled Leafkit pathetically. Her ears flattened in sadness.

Calming down, Falconkit sat down by Leafkit and wrapped his tail around her comfortingly, drawing her closer. "It'll be alright," he whispered to her. Turning to Patchkit he said, "We're your Clanmates, Patchkit. Leafkit never meant you any harm, things just got out of hand. If we're still your friends, things like this shouldn't happen. Just please try to control your 'temper'. This is scary." Falconkit looked back at Leafkit.

Leafkit suddenly felt soothed when Falconkit drew near to her. Somehow, she felt like Patchkit was less of a threat with her closest friend on her side. Suddenly, though, Leafkit snapped back into reality. Right… Patchkit is threatening me. Fear washed over her as she remembered that Falconkit didn't make everything better. He might be my best friend, but he can't save me from her…

Falconkit felt relaxed by Leafkit's scent. I hope she feels safe with me. I don't know what's going through Patchkit's head, but I'll do what I can to protect Leafkit. He saw Leafkit's expression fill with fear again. I didn't really think her dreams of Patchkit attacking her had much significance, but now it seems there's more to it. What can I do? Falconkit gently pressed his face into Leafkit's fur, praying to StarClan that things wouldn't get worse.

StarClan, don't let Patchkit hurt me! Please, keep me safe. thought Leafkit, shrinking back slightly and closing her eyes gently for a few moments. Keep Falconkit safe, too. She might hurt him as well, and I don't want him to be hurt. He's my friend. Leafkit sighed and swished her tail. Hopefully, StarClan would answer her prayer, and Patchkit wouldn't hurt her, or even Falconkit, anymore.

"So..." Patchkit mewed. "How about we see if those StreamClan kits are at the Sunrocks today?"

(We're in StreamClan, you meant SunClan kits right? xD)

Patchkit really expects us to go and play with her like normal, so soon after this disturbance? I don't know how much we can trust her, and she still doesn't really understand that what she did was wrong... Going would help calm us all down though, and Leafkit especially needs something to take her mind off all this, Falconkit thought. And it'll be fun to see those guys again anyway, He tried to reassure himself.
"Uh... Sure, why not?" Falconkit replied. "Would you be okay with that, Leafkit?" He asked uncertainly, but with gentle eyes.

"Sure... okay." Leafkit mewed timidly with a slight tremble. I'm so afraid. What will Patchkit do...? Suddenly, she thought of the SunClan cats. They'd protect her. And Falconkit most of all. Falconkit was a great friend, unlike Patchkit. Falconkit and those kits from SunClan will keep me safe. I'm sure of it. Falconkit is trustworthy; he'd always help if I was in danger. She sighed as she tried to make herself feel a little bit better about this situation.

"Alright!" Patchkit laughed. "Let's go!"

Leafkit nodded. "Okay, then." She padded off.

Falconkit caught up to Leafkit, looking behind to see if Patchkit was following. I really hope we'll be alright with Patchkit, he thought. Surely she won't try anything with the SunClan kits to witness? In any case though, I'll keep Leafkit safe no matter what.

Leafkit arrived at the stream. I hope Patchkit doesn't try to threaten me again. Hopefully, those SunClan kits will show up. Maybe she'll act better in front of them. She sighed and glanced around at her paws. She really scares me sometimes...

"Guys...wa....wait up!" Panting, Daisykit caught up to her friends. She'd never been to the stream, and she was very excited.
Bouncing on her paws, she exclaimed, "Look at the stream! It's beautiful!" She raced ahead of her friends with a smile.
