~Story chapters~
- Chapter One:
- The Beginning of Distruction
Baze opened his eyes slowly, peering out at the still dark, night sky. He stretched his paws. Only to see they were blue, no longer a dull tan. And much bigger and more structured. The young blue cat with the blond tuft of hair that fell gently over his eyes saw a sleek red Kattaca laying a sleep in the cave behind him. She had long white hair and a much longer and more slender figure then his as well as a white star on her tail.
The young kitten-like Kattaca dashed towards her. “MOM MOM! GUESS WHAT?!” The red Kattaca opened her eyes, and looked at her son. “Wha… OH! You’ve got your colors!” Baze puffed out his fluffy chest proudly. His mother laughed. “Go look at yourself. There’s a puddle over there.” Baze’s mother gestured with her tail to the entrance of the cave, which was their home, where a small still puddle still stayed from the rainfall a few days ago.
Baze nodded and trotted over. As he did so, he heard his mother whisper something softly to something, or someone who her back had previously hidden. Baze slowed down as he approached the puddle. He cautiously looked in, and saw his reflection. His cat-like face, his pointed tall ears, and his blond ‘hair’ that fell close to one eye, all of this made him smile. He then heard soft footsteps behind him. He looked over his shoulder, greeted by another young Kattaca, similar in size and figure. She had glistening silver fur, and pale blue hair. That was a straight and level as if it were partially shredded paper, draped over a globe. She smiled at him “Hey sis.” Baze greeted “You look amazing!” She looked down and blushed slightly “You look good to.” Baze laughed, and turned his attention once again to the puddle. His sister came and stood next to him. She stared at her reflection. “Wow.” She said. “This is… Awesome!” “I know! I can’t wait to show Shyma!”
His sister smiled. “I wonder what she’d think.” “I dunno, Hilmy.” Baze responded, a serious look. “I wonder what she looks like.” Hilmy looked at him. “Do you know that she changed?” “Presumably. She was born on the same day as us.” Hilmy cocked her head for a moment in response. “I’m gonna go see her.” Baze said finally. Hilmy laughed. “Have fun, lover boy.” As Baze trotted off, he shot his sister an irritated expression. She responded with a similarly innocent smile.
He picked up speed to a slow run. Suddenly a flash of light in the edge of his gaze caught his attention, and he looked up just in time to see a blue fiery shooting star fly overhead. He looked up at it confused. “What is that..?” A small pink figure appeared out of a nearby cave similar to the one where Baze lived. Baze saw her and called her attention “Shyma!” He called.
Shyma turned her attention from the sky, and trotted over to him. “Hey looked at you!” she said to him. “You look great!” “So do you!” Baze responded quickly. “Look at you!” He now looked her over with a smile. Seeing her soft pink fur, and her short red hair tuft, shaped similarly to his sister’s.
“That’s not all.” Shyma said, as if able to see through his eyes. And suddenly she showed two small wings protruding from her shoulders. She flapped them gracefully. “WOAH!” Baze said, for he had never heard of a Kattaca with wings, other than the queen, who happened to be Shyma’s mother. “Wh… How…?!” “I guess it’s official.” Shyma closed her eyes dramatically “I’m a princess.” Baze stared at her wide eyed. His best friend was a princess! This could have been predicted from the moment of her birth, if one has even half a brain, but to Baze, he is still in shock about such a dramatic change to his friend.
But this feeling of joy only lasted a moment for suddenly a loud, horrifying screech was heard.
Nearby Kattaca, guards, and those already awake stiffened. They’re eyes growing wide.
All turned their attention to the forest line that bordered the Kattaca’s home. Suddenly black, tall slender fox-like creatures emerged from the forest. They stared at the Kattacas with creepily large, red eyes.
All of them chattering happily in a high pitched, yet so fast and quiet that you couldn’t make out their speech. Shyma gasped. “Vulixpis!” Baze took a sharp inhale through his nose. He turned to rush back to his cave, but a few Vulixpis had already moved between him and his destination. Shyma turned, and rushed back inside her cave. Baze decided to risk a trip back to his own cave, but before he could get there, the worst possible thing happened. A loud howl was heard through the night sky. Baze’s eyes grew huge.
The Kattacas, already under attack from the Vulixpis, all suddenly looked up. Just in time to see a huge Vulixpi like creature appear. He was so thin, one could see his bones. His huge ears, torn in places from previous battles, were crooked forward under their own weight. He showed his huge, black wings. Filled with holes, some large, some small, some tattering the edges of his wings. He flapped them slowly as he watched the running Kattacas before him, a look of pure insanity on his face. This was Vanatrix, the self-proclaimed king of the planet Kattacus.
- Chapter Two:
- The End of the World
Finally Vanatrix landed with a loud shaking thud. The nearby Kattacas backed away nervously, knowing none of them were near a match to this monster. He looked over his opponents, and smiled. His gaze landed on Shyma and her mother’s cave. He started to approach it. Baze stiffened. “SHYMA!! RUN!” He cried out in fear. But it wasn’t Shyma who emerged from the cave moments later. It was a silver and white Kattaca she was much larger than the others, and her wings, yes, wings were much larger than Shyma’s were, and feathery, unlike Vanatrix’s which were more like a bat’s. She stretched herself to her full height in front of Vanatrix. This was Yarasmere, the queen of Kattacus.
Baze stared wide eyed. Vanatrix drew his lips back in a large sneer, showing his large white teeth. He pinned his large ears to the back of his head. He took a step backwards. Yarasmere took a step forward, pinning her own ears in a similar manner “I regret what you have become.” She said in a deep, yet soft voice. “But what you are doing now is unforgiveable. It is time to end this!” She reared on her hind legs, and leapt forward. She crashed into Vanatrix, who howled, and stumbled away, he lowered his head, and stalked towards her, lifting his wings threateningly “You are no match for me.” She took a step backwards, once again assuming a similar posture to her opponent’s.
A foggy mist of ice flowed around her paws. He lifted his head “NOW YOU DIE!” She gasped. He opened his jaws, and instead of a bark, howl or yap, a screech sounded from Vanatrix’s mouth, loud and ear piercing. It felt like it drove to Baze’s very core. He groaned against the pressure, and pain.
Shyma came running out of the cave. “No!” Yarasmere crouched down to the ground in pain. “Ma..” Shyma was cut off her own screech of pain. She stumbled away, and fell. Both her and her mother grew darker in color. Baze looked around, most if not all of the other Kattacas were growing darker, and some were already almost pitch black. He rushed forward “Shyma..!” He stumbled, as he was growing weak from Vanatrix’s constant pounding noise. He somehow managed to get close enough to Shyma and Yarasmere to grab Shyma’s scruff, and drag her a short distance away.
Her color returned slightly “Baze… We’re.. We’re all… Going to die..” “No.. No!” He replied quickly in a hushed sob. He glanced up. Yarasmere grew black, and faded away. ”No.. Yarasmere… Our queen… Is dead…!” he realized then that he had collapsed. He struggled to his feet. He turned his sharp gaze on Vanatrix. “You.. You will not kill us all..” Vanatrix stopped his screech. Baze felt a wave of relief wash over him as he felt strength suddenly return. He glanced around. With a jolt he realized he and Shyma were the only ones alive. Vanatrix stalked towards the two of them Baze scowled, and stumbled in front of the weakened Shyma.
“Haha, you think you can fight me, pipsqueak?” Vanatrix stood now inches from Baze. He lowered his large head. Which seemed to dwarf Baze “You have caused so much destruction. How.. How can I just let you continue? To kill me… To kill Shyma..?” Vanatrix chuckled. Sending a flash of the fox’s horrible breath over the young Kattaca’s mussel “You can try to fight me, but you will NEVER win!” He lifted his head, and sounded a bellowing laughter. Baze growled, and leapt at him. His claws barely made a mark on the great creature’s nose, but he held on. Vanatrix tried to shake him off. Baze looked over his shoulder, and waited for the right moment, then let himself be thrown, and landed on Vanatrix’s wing. He stood on its rim, He wheeled around and hissed at his opponent.
He leapt onto Vanatrix’s shoulder, and latched on with his claws. Vanatrix reared, and swiped at him. Baze leapt once more, barely dodging the claws. He misjudged his leap though and landed stiffly on the ground. He looked up just in time to see Vanatrix’s large paw slam into him and pin him to the ground. Baze squirmed desperately
Vanatrix laughed, the look of insanity returning to its full extreme. “You fought well, little one. But this is where it ends.” He took a step away, and lifted his head to the sky, and screeched once more Baze yowled in an attempt to drown it out. It failed miserably. He stumbled away, tripping and falling on Shyma’s limp body. He looked at her. She was almost pure black ”No.. Hang in there!” Baze felt panic. He looked at his own paws. They were dark grey and growing darker quickly. His vision grew fuzzy. “Please… Save.. Her..” His vision grew black.
- Chapter Three:
- Where Are We Now?
Bullet awoke with a start. He was not where he had been moments ago. He looked around. He was in the living room of a small yet quaint little house. There was furniture neatly placed and cleaned around the room. End tables, lamps, TV, TV stand. Bullet sighed, and tried to stand. Something was wrong. He wasn’t moving like he should. His body was responding completely differently to the command to stand. He moved his paws and pressed them against the object he was laying on. Which was a pale green couch. He gasped when he saw his paws.
They weren’t paws at all! They were… Hands! His heart pounded. After seeing that the rest of himself was not like it should be either, not cat-like at all. He was humanoid for one thing, and he had longer blond hair. He did still have his cat-like face, and ears though. He sat up. (After much effort figuring out how to do such a task) bracing himself on either side with his arms. He then stood. Slowly.
He wobbled as he stood on shaky legs. He heard a thump behind him and gasped. Jumping slightly. Looking over his shoulder, he saw his tail. Not short and fluffy, but long, slim, and with a star on the end. ”I grew up… Wow…” He scowled softly. He understood why this was the worst day he would experience. Everyone.. Everyone he knew was dead. ”except maybe..” He started making his way around the house. Going from room to room, looking for something. In the bed room down the hall, he found it. “Shyma..?” He stared at the grown humanoid female figure lying unconscious on the bed. He walked over to her. It was Scope, he assumed, because of her pink fur and red hair. (also longer. Her hair was longer than Bullet’s, and pulled back into a pony tail. Her bangs were perfectly straight, and trimmed into a neat line on her forehead) He glanced at her tail, and saw that she too, had grown from their recent experience. He sighed, and gently shook her. “Shyma…? Hello?”
Scope slowly awoke, blinking slowly. She looked up at him, and her eyes grew wide. “Baze..?!” Bullet smiled “Oh my gosh I’m glad you’re ok!” He leaned down and hugged her. “Baze what you did was.. Well… Thank you..” She whispered into his shoulder as he held her. He let her go slowly “Shyma, I’d do anything to keep you safe.” Scope smiled happily. Then she looked around “Uh… Where are we..?” “I have no idea.” Bullet responded with a sigh. “But let’s go see if we can find out.” He took a step back from the bed, giving Scope the room to get out, which she did.
She followed him, (taking a few moments to catch her balance, as Bullet had) as he walked back down the hall, and towards the main door of the house. Opening it, he saw before him a happy and cheerful world.
The grass was short, but green and lush. There was a road that ran past their little house, and the road was lined with other buildings. The ones closer to Bullet and Scope’s house were living areas, the ones beyond the comfortable little row of homes were shops and other department stores of various kinds. Up the road to the east, in the distance, was a large tall castle. It was painted white, with pale blue highlights. It’s windows glowed with lamps and other lights that were currently on. Bullet glanced over his shoulder at Scope to judge her reaction. She seemed just as amazed as he felt.
He slowly stepped outside. Scope followed close behind. He looked up and down the road. He didn’t see anyone at first, then he saw a little creature riding a bike up the road towards them. It looked much like a twig. It had a small afro of sorts made of leaves, and leafy hands and, and root-like feet. Bullet called out “Excuse me?” The twig creature stopped in front of him, and looked at him quizzically. “Yes, master Bullet?” Bullet looked confused “That’s not my name… My name’s Baze… Is there someone you know who looks like me..?” The twig nodded “Yes. You are him. Master Bullet, what is wrong?” Bullet shook his head “once again, I am Baze.” The twig-thing seemed perturbed “You are master Bullet. Should I take to doctor?” Bullet rubbed his head confused. “Uuh… I dunno.” He looked at Scope for confirmation.
“Uh.. Little man..” She said softly, flapping her small wings gently “Who are you..?” The twig creature gasped “Miss. Scope!!! You don’t remember me?!” Scope seemed frightened. “Uhh… My.. My name’s Shyma…” The twig creature put both leafy hands to its eyes and cried “Please!! Please don’t forgotten us! Please masters!” Bullet and Scope shared an anxious expression Bullet spoke “We just got here… I don’t know anything or anyone here. Same with Scope.” Scope looked at him with a weird expression. “Baze…?” Bullet looked at her with confusion for a second, then with a flash of realization hurriedly corrected “Shyma, I mean.” The twig gave the two of them a pitiful glance before sighing. “I explain.”
It explained that Bullet and Scope had been staying in that little house for 3 years. In those 3 years, they had defended this kingdom from several attacks of various kinds. And that “Baze” and “Shyma” Had never been heard of until now. Bullet tilted his head “As I said before, we just got here… The people you knew can’t be the same as us…” The twig shook its head “No. You look like them.”
(it might take me a wile to update this. I have no motivation)
