At this moment, Brittany was again speaking to the Pikmin gathered around her as if speaking to her own houseplants, just like she did yesterday.
"Good," Charlie replied. "If either of you need anything, just give me a call, and I'll come as quickly as I can to help."

"Okay; thank you, captain," Alph replied with a single nod. "I'd better get the last of my preparations out of the way, so... see you in a little while...!" He added, waving his hand to the onscreen captain.

Charlie nodded, then ended the communication.
"Well, I'm ready to go... You?" Brittany strolled over, surrounded by various Pikmin. "I've located an area that contains more than one piece of fruit! What's your mission?"

Putting away his KopPad, Alph turned to look at Brittany when she approached. "Oh, I'm almost ready; just need to call out some Pikmin," He chuckled, looking up at the large hybrid Onion towering above them. "As for my mission... I've located what appears to be a half-buried fruit which I'm going to investigate."

"Great! If all goes well, we'll be having a sort of feast tonight... So I sure hope everything goes well." After waving rather perkily, Brittany twirled around, then proceeded to march towards her destination.

"Hopefully everything does go well...!" Alph called out to Brittany as she set off on her own route. Once she was out of sight, he strolled over to the Onion and called out a fair number of Pikmin; 30, to be exact, gave them a small pep-talk of sorts, and headed out to start the day's mission.

A long while later, Charlie had finally located and unearthed a good-sized piece of hidden fruit; a lemon. These aren't the tastiest, but... It's something, at least, he thought, watching as five of his Pikmin marched back to the Drake with their find.

After a long trek, Alph had finally reached his destination and and began observing the half-buried object, which was indeed a fruit; an averagely-sized lime. As he sent a few Pikmin over to dig out the bright green citrus, he began scanning his KopPad for signs of any more fruit near the area.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake under the feet of Charlie and his Pikmin crew. W-what in the universe is going on?!
At this moment, a horribly vicious creature with the head of a long-beaked bird and the body of a snake-a Burrowing Snagret-erupted from the ground, blocking the lemon-carrying Pikmin's path. Thankfully, Charlie was able to blow his whistle and call the five back just in time to avoid the Snagret's snapping beak.
Looks like we're in for a fight here...
Pointing to the monster, and with a harsh blow of his whistle, Charlie sent his entire squad of Pikmin towards the Snagret to attack. However, the creature took this as an opportunity to strike, and snatched up several Pikmin in each lightning-fast snap of its elongated beak.

Watching as his Pikmin successfully dug out the lime and started heading back to the Drake with the citrus fruit, Alph decided to just follow them back instead of searching for any more fruit, in case of any potentially-lurking predators.

Despite some casualties, Charlie's Pikmin army was fighting bravely. However, all of a sudden, the Snagret disappeared underground before rising again in the absolute center of the Pikmin swarm, sending them flying in all directions. While the Pikmin were distracted, the beast snapped up beakful after beakful.
Ack; we need help, quickly...! Charlie frantically took out his KopPad, sending out an emergency signal to whoever would answer first.

As he was marching back to the Drake with his crew of Pikmin, Alph noticed that his KopPad was receiving an emergency signal and answered as quickly as he could. "What's the matter...?!" He asked, alarmed.

As soon as one of his crewmates answered his signal, Charlie began frantically explaining his situation, trying as hard as he could to not scramble his words out of stress. The chaotic sounds of battle and the high-pitched screams of Pikmin could be heard in the background throughout the call. "Alph! We have a situation here; a Burrowing Snagret! I-it ambushed us! We're losing Pikmin FAST! And-..."
Suddenly, the signal abruptly cut out...

"I'll be there right away, captain...!" Alph responded, gasping when the signal was spontaneously interrupted. Quickly scanning the location of Charlie on his KopPad, Alph turned around and started sprinting there as fast as his legs could carry him.

Meanwhile, with his Pikmin army shrinking quickly, Charlie decided to do something reckless. After taking a few steps back, he charged and flung himself towards the beast, hanging onto it with a determined grip and pummeling away at it with a free fist. The Snagret writhed with all of its might, trying to throw the captain off, but he clung on tenaciously.

When he arrived on the scene, Alph was greeted by the sight of Charlie persistently hanging onto and attacking the Snagret. "C-Captain...!" Alph gasped in fear, quickly tossing some Red Pikmin at the large creature.

"Alph...! Thank goodness...!" Charlie puffed, wrestling with the Snagret. "Don't fear; I'm alright...! Now that you're here, maybe we can triumph over this beast after all...!"
When Alph's Red Pikmin surrounded and swarmed the Snagret, it let out a screech, then retreated underground, with Charlie leaping off just before it disappeared.

"Hopefully...!" Alph nodded, quickly calling back the Red Pikmin once the Snagret was back underground. As he stared on at where the creature had been just moments ago, he braced himself for it to suddenly reappear, his whole squad of Pikmin staying close.

Although the sun was now getting close to setting, the battle completely turned any attention away from it.
After pausing and looking around for a moment, Charlie began backing away, when suddenly, he was thrown high into the air as the Snagret emerged once again, directly under his feet. Before he could react, the Snagret had snapped him up in its beak, then once again vanished underground. A raised ridge in the ground indicated that the monster was rapidly leaving the area, taking Charlie with it.

When the Snagret suddenly made a startling reappearance, Alph didn't even have time to react before the vicious creature snatched Charlie away in its beak and began to make a speedy getaway. "Captain...!" He cried out in horror, running after the raised ridge in the ground.

Eventually, far away from where Charlie's journey riding inside of the creature began, it came to an end. For the whole ride, the captain fought back, pummeling the inside of the Snagret's mouth with all of his strength. Eventually, the beast couldn't take any more, erupted through the surface of the ground, and spat the captain out onto the ground before burrowing again and fleeing once and for all.

Alph couldn't follow the trail left by the Snagret for long before it faded, so pulling out his KopPad, he located Charlie's signal and quickly continued on his way, despite the quickly-fading daylight. Ohh, I hope the captain is OK... He thought nervously.

With their leader now completely out-of-sight, Charlie's squad of remaining Pikmin decided to follow Alph instead for now.
Meanwhile, Charlie slowly rose to his feet. Although covered in Snagret drool, he was otherwise virtually unharmed. At this moment, he noticed the setting sun. Ah... I'm afraid I won't be able to make it back to the Drake in time tonight... What to do?

Completely ignoring the fact that the sun was just barely peeking over the horizon, Alph continued marching onwards. "Charlie...?!" He called out, hoping that the captain could hear him.

Upon hearing Alph's voice calling faintly in the distance, Charlie called back in reply. "Alph...!! I'm over here!" In an attempt to make the light on top of his helmet visible from a further distance, he jumped up and down as high as he could.
