Trapped: An RP by Glimmer

Vivian nodded. "It sounds like a good idea to me… I'd like to go back home, anyway. I don't want to leave my sisters without me."

"Alright then!" Vinetail purred. "Do any of you have any new ideas? Observing didn't work particuarly well." he noted.

"Well, maybe we could try observing again?" Roseblossom suggested. "Since Black's here, maybe he could find something useful."
"Yeah!" he barked. "I'm a great observer! One time, Destiny hid a tiny treat under a pile of blankets, but I wasn't fooled! I got the treat and ate it right then and there; I didn't even get tangled up! Well, I did... but I found my way out!"

"Alright then, super sniffer, let's put that nose of yours to good use!" Vinetail playfully said. "We'll keep looking around, and you can tell us if you smell anything out of the ordinary, alright?"

"Okey dokey!" Black raced out of the room and sniffed around.

Vinetail searched around, pouncing on lamps, beds, and cabinets, not seeing anything different. He stayed focused, but made sure to keep listening for Black's distinctive bark.

Black suddenly barked. "RAF!! RAF!!"

"Did you find something?" Vinetail called out from a few rooms away.

"Yeah!" Black shouted back, which wasn't hard because he's a loud barker. "Besides us, this place is deserted!"

"Well, I had guessed that, but it's still nice to know." Vinetail responded. "Have you seen or smelled anything that could help us escape?"

"Nope, still looking." Black barked. "Maybe there's something outside! I'm gonna check!"

"OK!" Vinetail purred. "I'll check to see if there are any other floors!"

"Yes, sir!" Black did his best of a salute, which was just putting his paw on his muzzle. Then he raced out the window and scurried across the sand. He randomly chose a spot and started digging.

Meanwhile, Vinetail tried exploring as high up as he possibly could, looking for any hidden exits or other floors. He saw a bent board on a wall and started to scratch at it.

Glimmerwing rushed over, almost knocking Vinetail down in the process. "Did you find anything?" she asked, eager to know how her new friends were doing.

Taking a moment to find his balance, Vinetail replied with, "Yes, there's a loose area over by that wall, but I can't reach it." He flicked his tail to show the direction he was talking about.

Black dug in the sand, not finding anything helpful so far.

Roseblossom, Skippy, and Whiskers padded over with Glimmerpaw and Vinetail. "Maybe there's something that will help you reach it?" Skippy suggested. "Like a stick or something?"

Vinetail looked around and didn't see anything that could help, but he knew someone who could.

"Black!" he called outside. "Black! Are there any sticks outside? Or anything that could extend my reach?"

Glimmerwing glanced at Black, happy that he was here to help them. He may be a dog, but he's not that bad.

"Yes, there are some sticks out here!" Black shouted. "I'll get some for you!"

"Oh, nice!" Vinetail mewed. "Try to bring the longest one you can!" He wondered what the loose board would lead to once it was broken...

Bouncing up and down on her paws, Glimmerwing burst out, "Isn't this exciting? I mean...it's terrifying, but it's still exciting, right...?" 

She knew that so many things could go wrong; worst of all, being trapped there forever. But, at the moment, being with her new friends and working with them was somewhat comforting.

"Yeah, Glimmerpaw." Skippy smiled. "Just like the siamese cat in the books Destiny would read to me as a kitten. Did you know that that cat was called Skippy, which is why I'm named Skippy?"

"Is this good enough, Vinetail?" Black ran in with the longest stick he could find.

{As a second grader, I loved the SkippyJon Jones picture books...and I still do!}

"Let's find out!" Vinetail smiled at Black, taking the stick. He reached for the weak wall and hit it multiple times until part of it cracked. Slowly but surely, a small chunk of it collapsed into a hole.

"Perfect! Great job, Black!" Vinetail mewed. "Now let's see where this leads..."

"Yeah, adventure!" Black howled happily.
