Sandshadow nodded. "I think so." He smiled again as he looked at the two apprentices.

"Hey Gatorpaw, I'll race ya back to camp!" Rainpaw shouted. "I know we're tired, but this'll be fun." She was getting ready to sprint.

Sandshadow couldn't help but continue grinning at Gatorpaw and Rainpaw together.

Gatorpaw smiled and got ready to start running. He would've started running right then, but he wanted to make sure he was close to Rainpaw for as long as possible.

"You ready? Let's go!" Rainpaw started running, leaving the others behind and keeping a rapid pace with Gatorpaw. She pretended she couldn't go any faster, and suspected he was doing the same. Rainpaw let out a joyful mrrow as they ran.

I'm loving this moment. It's just me, Gatorpaw, and the air rushing in our faces. she thought blissfully. Oh, I really need to tell him how I feel...

They're so beautiful together... I'll leave them to run alone. Sandshadow thought to himself with amusement.

Gatorpaw ran on with Rainpaw. I'll tell her once we get to camp. he thought.

As they neared closer to the camp, Rainpaw's thoughts left Gatorpaw for a moment. {Is that even possible though? xD} What was going to happen when they got back? Would they tell their Clanmates what happened? I really hope we don't get in trouble for all this, we've been through enough already she thought, scowling.

I hope Rainpaw and  I don't get in trouble. Gatorpaw thought. We've already been through enough today, being in a life-or-death situation and all. And I'm sure having a dumb kittypet with us won't make things any better. If they lay a paw on Rainpaw because of all this, I will destroy them.

Raipaw slowed down a little and sighed. "We're almost home. I wish we could always just run like this together, along an endless path; nothing to worry about at all." After a pause she said, "But that can't happen. I guess it's time we went back." She sped up again, and let his pace match hers. Whatever happens, I want him always by my side.

Gatorpaw nodded. "Yeah, that would be nice."

Rainpaw smiled at him as they ran. They were only a few fox-lengths from the camp now.

"Yay, we're almost there!" Gatorpaw yowled.

Sandshadow smiled, seeing the two apprentices racing back to camp.

Gatorpaw purred.

Shiningpaw sighed, looking at Gatorpaw and Rainpaw. No one will ever like me, she thought.

Lynxpaw padded over to Shiningpaw. "You ate one of the flowers, right?" he asked. "I brought one in case you didn't."

Meanwhile, Swampmist was having her kits. "Ow!" she said painfully. Finally, they came. "What should I name them?" she asked the other cats.
(Name one, claim one!)

"Thank you!" Shiningpaw said, blushing. She took the flower and nibbled it. "Are the potatoes safe to eat yet?"

The others padded over to the queen. Good to be back. Gatorpaw thought. Now back to plotting to destroy the Clan and becoming leader and taking Rainpaw as my deputy. 
Secretpaw looked at a small gray tom. "How about Fogkit?" she mewed. 
Lynxpaw looked at Shiningpaw. "I don't know..." he whispered. "But I know for sure I'm never eating one of them again! Just don't mention this to anybody. Especially Mysticstar."
Sam crawled into some bushes so he couldn't be seen.

"Perfect!" Swampmist said. "This little brown tom'll be Logkit, but I'm not sure about the last one," she mewled.

"All cats old enough to hunt, come to the Clan Rock!" Mysticstar yelled.

Gatorpaw, Lynxpaw, and Secretpaw walked up to the Clan Rock.
I hope she didn't notice we were gone. Lynxpaw thought.
I hope we aren't in trouble! Secretpaw thought.
I hope she's gonna announce that she's on her last life! Gatorpaw thought.

"How about Smogkit for the tabby she-kit?" Rainpaw asked, purring. "Aww, they're all so cute!"

Just then, Thornshadow, Runningmoon, and Rainpaw heard Mysticstar's call and gathered around the Clan Rock with the others.

I wonder what this is about... Rainpaw thought nervously.

Gatorpaw looked at Rainpaw nervously.

Mysticstar smiled warmly. "Lynxpaw, you are courageous and strong, and you deserve this name." She looked at the youngpaw's bobbed tail and said, "You are Lynxtail!" Then she moved to Shiningpaw. "Sweetie, you have a big heart for everyone and you may be shy, but you fight for what's right." She paused for a second and added, "From now on, you are a warrior! Your name is Shiningheart, for the deep devotion you have to your Clanmates." She smiled again and called Gatorpaw up. "You're the bravest cat I've ever seen. Your name's Gatorjaw!" Finally, she moved on to Rainpaw. "You're always hyper and happy, so I name you Rainshine."

Gatorjaw... sounds feirce. I like it. Gatorjaw thought. And Rainshine's name is so pretty!
Lynxtail smiled.
