"M-Mysticstar's dead!" Secretleaf sobbed.

Lynxtail heard them and ran over. "Mysticstar!" he gasped. "She was my mentor..."

Sandshadow closed his eyes. "The Clan will sit vigil tonight, then." Stormsand nodded. "Yes. We must honor her. I wish she could have met me..." she sighed.

Sandshadow laid his head down, and Stormsand did the same. Tears were forming in their eyes. The leader of MistClan was gone. "I didn't want to lose you..." whispered Stormsand.

Rainshine let out a soft, mournful wail. "This can't be happening...."

Runningmoon and Thornshadow padded over to her and hung down their heads. "She's served us so well for many seasons..." Thornshadow said, his voice full of grief.

Silence flooded the den for a moment, every cat muted with grief for their leader. Sandshadow gave a sad glance at his daughter, and Stormsand returned it.

Gatorjaw padded back into the warriors den, not knowing that the others were grieving Mysticstar's death.

Dawnlily walked into camp, mouth full with fresh kill. She had decided to go for a morning walk by herself, which later turned into a small hunting trip.
"Why does everyone looks so sad?" She asked as she dropped her kill in the pile

"I don't know." Gatorjaw said. "I was just talking to Rainshine and Stormsand and then everyone started running to Mysticstar's den."

Dawnlily walks up to Secretleaf as she leaves Mysticstar's den, looking quite sad.
"What's going on with Mysticstar?" She asks

"She died?" Gatorjaw ran over. "Who's going to be leader now?" Please say me, please say me! he thought.

Rainshine saw Gatorjaw and Dawnlily just come in. She got in between them and rested her tail on Dawnlily's flank and pressed her face into Gatorjaw's fur, trying to comfort both them and herself. "This can't be happening..." she murmured to them, mournfully.

"I wanted her to make me a real warrior." Stormsand sighed. Sandshadow rested his tail on his daughter's flank. "Don't worry. You'll become a warrior, no matter who is made leader." Stormsand suddenly noticed Dawnlily right behind them.
