Cats of the Mist-MistClan

Rainshine purred loudly and nuzzled Gatorjaw. After awhile they drifted off to sleep, comforted by the warmth of each other's pelts.

Gatorjaw nuzzled Rainshine back, and fell asleep peacefully.

Meanwhile, Sandshadow and Stormsand were still talking to one another.
"Bluecreek never had kits!" Sandshadow spat at Stormsand.
Stormsand shook her head. "Then you'd be wrong. Bluecreek didn't die of potato poisoning! She made that up, although potatoes are still a problem to health and can kill you. But that's not the point! The point is, she died of kitting. I'm the reason she died! One kit destroyed her mother's entire life... You'd think at least two would do it. Yet it was only me. No dead ones. Just me. I had nowhere to go. I didn't know my life was meant to be at a camp! I was wandering as a loner until I found MistClan. I didn't want to join, but I thought the names were cool. So, having no name, I named myself Stormpaw, since I was six moons old. I wondered if you were in MistClan. And you were. Today is the day that I am twelve moons old, and I have named myself Stormsand in honor of you." Stormsand explained.

Gatorjaw stretched awake. "Good morning, Rainshine." he yawned.

Sandshadow's eyes grew wide. "Is this true?"
"I swear it by StarClan, yes." Stormsand nodded.

"Huh? Oh, good morning Gatorjaw." Rainshine mewed sleepily. "Your fur's sticking up!" she laughed. Rainshine got up and licked his fur flat. "Let's go see what's going on out there." she said, gesturing to the leave the den.

"Okay." Gatorjaw mewed.

Sandshadow shook his head in disbelief. "Why didn't she tell me...?"
Stormsand sighed. "That, I do not know. Come on, let's introduce me to the Clan. I want to become a real warrior."

Rainshine padded out of the den with Gatorjaw....

Gatorjaw purred.
Lynxtail padded into the clearing.

Stormsand's eyes widened. "Are those who I think they are?" She bounded to Gatorjaw and Rainshine as if they were famous.

Gatorjaw looked at Rainshine, confused.

Stormsand ignored Lynxtail entirely. "Rainshine! Gatorjaw!" she exclaimed. "I'm Stormsand!"

"How do you know who we are...?" Gatorjaw asked.

"Err... I've kinda been... spying on MistClan... I was born here!" stuttered Stormsand.

"Born here?! This can't be right, how come we don't know you?" Rainshine meowed, shocked.

"Yeah! And why did you choose us to run at and not some other cat?" Gatorjaw mewed. "And in case you're wondering, I'm taken." He smiled at Rainshine.

"Oh, I know. But I ran to you because I know about your love story! I think it's really sweet." Stormsand. "But, you see, Sandshadow is my father."

"So, Bluecreek had you before the potato poisoning?" Gatorjaw asked. Even she thinks Rainshine and I are perfect together! he thought happily.

"She never was poisoned! I killed her! She died kitting! One kit! And that kit was me!" Stormsand suddenly raged, her blue eyes flaring. Rain began to sprinkle through the camp.

Gatorjaw backed away nervously.

Stormsand sighed, rain pattering through the camp. "I'm sorry." Raindrops rolled down her pelt. "I just hate to talk about it... It's like I killed her all by myself."

Rainshine smiled back at him and blushed. Wow, cats are already noticing what a great couple we are! she thought joyfully.

Rainshine's eyes widened. "No, it's not like that. It's not your fault at all...." She didn't know what else to say.

You killed a grown cat all by yourself? I could use you on my team. "So, Sandshadow scared us about the whole potato thing for nothing?" Gatorjaw mewed. Okay, he dies along with the others.

"Thanks, Rainshine." Stormsand turned to Gatorjaw. "No! He didn't know! He didn't know I existed until today! Bluecreek made it look like she had died of potato poisoning. She took a potato from the farm and clawed bite marks into it. She never told anybody. But potatoes are poison!"
