Enter The Forest: The Roleplay

Roseblossom knew she probably should have been spending time with her kits. But after all the crud that's been going on today, she seriously needed some time to herself. She's been turned into a cat, she has to live in the wild, at least one of her friends is most likely dead, and now she has a mate and kits to care for. At this point, the only thing keeping her from crying was the physical inability for cats to cry.

Jewelsky was merely walking to camp when a strange sickness caused her to abruptly halt in her tracks. Something awful was happening in the incomprehensible chaos known as her brain. All at once, the memories rushed over her like a giant tsunami with absolutely no warning suddenly hitting central Illinois. She'd had a few relatively tiny realizations before, but they were meaningless, painless gentle waves lapping at a shore compared to this. Oh my holy flipping goodness… this is real! KATHERINE, THIS IS REAL! Memories of being a cat darted frantically around her mind at a pace far too quick to keep up with. There were thoughts of Shadeflower and Goldenpine naming their kits, Jewelkit's siblings saving her from Cinderpaw, all of her ceremonies, that one dream she was supposed to have forgotten, and—what, Pinesage actually was an invisible cat! Never before had any of this felt so realistic… yet it was somehow… devastating…? Oh my gosh… what if I forget my human life and keep this in my head instead? What will I do then? Futilely, Jewelsky clung on with every bit of the power she could possibly gather within her to the tiny scraps of humanity she still had left. You're a selfish idiot… shut up! I have to keep this; please! It's all I have! she pleaded with herself.

Tornadostorm reappeared, a large wad of clean moss in her mouth. Her ears pricked curiously at all the activity near the nursery. She made her way to the warrior's den, and pawed her old nest out, and replaced it with a clean... Comfortable... bed. When she was done, she approached the nursery. She had never explored much of her friend Roseblossom's headcannon, so she was caught very off guard when she saw the kits.

She gasped, and smiled sweetly. Forcing down how caught off guard she was. "They look like Roseblossom.. And... That tom I met. Ravenshade, I think it was. Wow. I didn't know they were mates." she sniffed them gently. They reminded her of her own kit. Well, not so much a kit anymore. But then again, she'd always be her 'kit' to Tornadostorm. She turned to Roseblossom, and Jules "I've got to go. I'll be back. later today. There's just something I need to do." And she hurriedly left the camp. Hoping no one followed her as she headed to the border of the CloudClan territory.

"Okay, seeya, Tornadostorm." Ravenshade looked up from cleaning his pelt. He peeked into the warriors den. "Hey Roseblossom, wanna play with the kits?" he purred. "I bet they wanna see your powers again."
Roseblossom stood up. As a human, playing with kittens or puppies was the best thing. She figured playing with Blossomkit, Petalkit, Melodykit, and Sweetkit was the best thing to clear her mind. She went outside to see the four kits next to Ravenshade, waiting. "Okay, let's go to the clearing where Jewelsky and I always train." She picked up the kittens with her telekinesis and went to the area, listening to the kits meow in amazement.

Tornadostorm strode through the clearing just as they arrived. Her eyes grew wide, and she looked over her shoulder. She gasped, and ran off. Running now through the forest until she was well out of scent range of the training area. then she slowed to a steady trot. She continued, her mind whirling with thoughts. Excitement bubbled in her. and she sped up slightly.

"Hey, look!" Petalkit squeaked as she floated. "There's your friend with the flower in her eye!"
"Looks like she's in a hurry," Sweetkit added. "Is she in a patrol? Where are the others?"
She looked scared of us when we came by... is she hiding something? Roseblossom didn't say her thoughts because she didn't want to scare her kits. "Stay here with Ravenshade," she ordered. "I won't be gone long." She slowly opened her wings and flew onto a tree branch, concealing herself with leaves.

Tornadostorm, still deep in thought, and getting more excited by the moment, (and as more memories came to her) was completely unaware of her friend watching her. she approached the border, made a brief dethatched glance around her, and leapt across the scent line. Trotting happily onward. Towards what seemed like nothing, through a large open field.

I've never noticed this field before, Roseblossom thought. She walked across the branches of trees, trying to stay quiet and hidden.

Tornadostorm kept trotting on, her tail swishing happily. Suddenly a white figure appeared. Tornadostorm stopped, and stretched her neck upward to see better of the grass. The white figure paused, looked at her, then broke into a run towards her. She did nothing to move out of it's way. Tornadostorm rubbed against it, and it licked her head. They spoke a few words, then both moved off in the same direction Tornadostorm had been going before. Pressed against each other.

Roseblossom was confused as to who the tom could be, but then she remembered. She had read Twister's story once or twice, so she didn't remember much, but she remembered the loner, Tornadostorm's mate. That's why she was so startled when she saw us; she didn't want anyone to know! she realized. But why does she think she has to hide it from us? She knows I've read about him...

They walked on for quite a distance. until they reach what appeared to be a badger hole. Both cats, one after the other, slipped inside.

Inside was a cave covered in white crystals. Though the crystals weren't glowing at the moment, because the sun wasn't shining in. The scent of a third cat was clear if one got close enough. It smelled mostly of the white cat, but slightly different. The third cat's voice, a female's voice's first response was odd for a greeting "Oh hi. Is it time?" "What..?" Came Tornadostorm's response. "Oh. No, not yet." "How is this happening?" she thought in the back of her mind "I haven't written about it yet." "Ok." came the she-cat's response. "It's good to see you again.

"You too." The white cat's voice, the voice of a tom said "What brings you here?" "I just wanted to see you again. It's been a while. He laughed. "I have missed you." "So have I." The third she-cat said "You don't come around much." "I have a clan to be a part of, remember?" was the hesitant response from Tornadostorm. The she cat sighed. "I'd like to see you around more, mom." Tornadostorm smiled -one couldn't see, but she smiled, and hugged the she-cat here- "I'll try to be here more often." "I'm so sorry I'm doing this to you. I want to be here more."

Roseblossom couldn't see inside the badger hole, but she figured she had already seen all she 'needed' to see. She started heading back to camp.

It was late in the evening before any of the three cats emerged from the 'badger hole'. And when she did, Tornadostorm ran full speed back after a few words of goodbye to the two cats she had been talking with.

Tornadostorm was excited and nervous, super nervous, when she returned to camp. She looked around as she entered -trying to center herself- to see who was there. Now more than ever, she wished Stealthvixen was there. She missed her sister, and wanted to share this experience with her. Also she was worried for what was to come.

Roseblossom walked back to the clearing where her mate and kits waited. What she really wanted to do was talk to Tornadostorm, but she didn't think it was a good idea. Besides, she promised to play with the kits.

Tornadostorm headed to the fresh kill pile instinctively, finding nothing. She groaned. "Fine." She mumbled out loud, yet in a soft voice. "I'll hunt on my own."

she turned and left the camp stalking through the ever darkening forest. It wasn't long before she found a mouse. She stalked it, kinda clumsily, but it seemed to do the trick. The mouse had no idea she was there. She caught it easily. A pang of panic shot through her as she gripped the rodent in her jaws.... "Oh right... I'm scared of mice.... She closed her eyes tightly, still fighting panic, and bit down hard. Grossed out slightly at the sensation of the snap of the neck. She quickly dropped it at her paws, spitting. "Eeew...OK, here I go." She used a gentle tooth to pull the fur off a bit, then she took her first bite. This took a while, for she had to gain enough courage to bite the diseased creature. But she was surprised to find it tasted good. Really good. "Does it taste this good as a human?" She wondered distantly. Devouring the mouse.

After playing for a while with Roseblossom, Petalkit asked, "Do we have powers too?"


Roseblossom had assumed in her headcanon that each of the kits inherited one power, but she didn't know if that would work here. Did real-life genetics apply? Are superpowers a dominant or recessive gene? After a while, she simply said, "Maybe you should test for yourselves."

Amused by the idea, Sweetkit stared at the ground, focusing on a certain area. Eventually, a small sheet of ice managed to form. She cheered to herself and looked at Roseblossom proudly.

After a bit of testing around, it was found that Sweetkit had ice powers, Blossomkit had telekinesis, and Melodykit had flight. That meant Petalkit had the ability to enter the dreams of other cats, but they didn't have a chance to test that.

Suddenly, the whole sky flashed a bright white-red blinding light for a split second. A thundering sound split the air. The clouds looked as though something had disturbed them....

Then, screaming and whimpering, a fox fell scrambling out of the sky, landing about half a mile from their position somewhere in the woods.

Tornadostorm saw the fox fall, and gasped. She dashed into the woods in the directing she saw her fall. "KATIE? KATIE ARE YOU OK?!" She called as she ran. she opened her jaws, and sniffed the air. The surprisingly familiar scent of her friend came over her nose as she ran and got closer.

Suddenly out of breath, she slowed down to a walk, and walked out. Calling out every so often. Sometimes for Stealthvixen, other times for Katie.

Roseblossom heard Tornadostorm call, "KATIE? KATIE ARE YOU OKAY?!" Her ears pricked up. "Stealthy's here?!" She shoved the kits to Ravenshade. "Sorry but I have to leave again! Be right back!" She flew to Tornadostorm.

She noticed Roseblossom when she slowed to a walk. "Hey!" She called. "I saw Ka...Uh, Stealthvixen fall from the sky just now! Somewhere up ahead! Wanna come with me to find her?" She lifted her tail curiously

"Fall out of the sky? We didn't do that when we came here... Is it different for foxes? Oh well, it's not important how she got here. We gotta find her!" Roseblossom nodded. "Where did you see her fall?"

"Like I said" Tornadostorm said hurriedly "Up ahead!" She trotted on, still a bit too tired to run.

Noticing how tired Tornadostorm was, Roseblossom lifted her up with her powers. "Is this too uncomfortable?" she asked, giggling a bit.

"Nope, not at all." She laughed. relaxing herself as she was levitated off the ground. watching the forest move under her.

A bright red fox with no markings, save a tiny bit of white on the tip of her tail and bright blue eyes, lay groaning on the forest floor. Amazingly, she had no broken bones or any major injuries--just a ton of pain.

"Ow...ow.......aauughhh......"

She looked up and saw a pink cat levitating what looked like Tornadostorm in the air.

"Cool. I'm dreaming. Ow....."
