ANIMATION LAND {an RP by Glim}

"Yep, it does!" Miku smiled, patting Jewelsky's head. "Is your owner into Japanese? And what's a star spirit?"

Flint seemed stumped by everything, and he was now staring wide eyed at his fellow companions with a completely bewildered expression.

"Owner…?" Jewelsky was puzzled. "What do you mean? Owner? Nobody owns me! I'm a free cat! … Ah, do you take me for a kittypet? No, they're a lot more plump than this," she joked.
Geno's smile displayed his willingness to explain. "Well, it's a bit complicated, but I live on a hill pretty close to here—wishes are granted there; it's kind of cool. This doll isn't my true form, as I was sent by a higher power to protect the world by possessing this doll."

"Well, if you don't have an owner, then how do you take care of yourself?" Miku asked.

Rin, who had been blocking out the conversation before, distracted by her thoughts, directed her attention to Geno. "You mean you can just go 'poof', and grant any wish just like that? Do you still have that power here?" she wondered, now hopeful.

Roseblossom looked in the direction where Dark had gone. She quietly slipped away after him.

"Well, normally, I live in a big group of cats, called a Clan. We hunt and fight for each other. But I wasn't going to bring them all with me on my adventure." Jewelsky rolled her eyes lightly. "Glimmerwing is part of my Clan, LightningClan, and Roseblossom's our friend from CloudClan."

"I could," Geno stated, "but I won't. It would be a waste of magic to grant wishes that didn't truly matter." Still, he laughed. "What would you wish for?"

Dark had still been sitting in the same spot, overthinking things as usual, when he thought he heard very soft, quiet footsteps somewhere behind him. He turned around and saw a strange pink cat, one he thought he'd seen earlier. They weren't footsteps. They were pawsteps. "What do you want?" Dark grumbled coldly, not anticipating a satisfying answer from the cat.

Flint twitched his ear. He noticed Roseblossom slip away, and was considering going after her. He retuned in to the conversation, and noticed he had nothing he could input. He had no magical power, nor a "clan" to mention. All he had was his immediate family. After a while, he to, slipped away. Following Roseblossom towards Dark

He stood in the shadows watching. He was mulling over what he could say. He had a feeling Dark wouldn't be very happy at his presence, and he wanted to make things right, if they were wrong. But, he was still deciding how to go about that.

Roseblossom's fur threatened to bristle, taken aback by Dark's tone, but she forced it to lay flat. "You seemed upset," she purred, "and I figured I could help you somehow."

Slightly nervous, Rin whispered to Geno, "I don't want Len to hate me."

"Help me?" Dark scoffed at the rosy cat's gentility, which seemed to him uncharacteristic of the current situation. "How could you help me? What makes you think you could accomplish such a thing?" He took notice of the bipedal, catlike creature who had also come to see him, though not bothering to verbally acknowledge someone of such little importance to him.

Geno's cheery smile drooped quickly into a frown. "I'll… I'll see what I can do about that. It seems pretty serious and important to you, doesn't it…?" He gently placed a wooden hand on Rin's shoulder and closed his eyes. After a couple of moments, he opened his eyes once more. "It doesn't seem that he does hate you. At least… not from what I'm seeing. It's strange, though; he sure acted like he held some kind of grudge against you." The star warrior removed his hand from her shoulder and tilted his head inquisitively. "Tell me, Rin," he began his query, "when was the last time you and Len saw each other?"

"I'm gonna at least try," Roseblossom said, rubbing Dark's arm with her head. "If you want advice, or someone to just talk to, or if you just want to pet me, I'm okay with that."

Upon feeling the garishly-colored cat's affectionate nuzzle, Dark sharply drew his arm away. "You're taking me for one of those emotional fools, aren't you? Truth be told, I don't much care for your sentimental 'help.' All I want is for you to leave me alone for once!" he spat out fiercely, denying to himself that perhaps he did need some kind of advice after all.

((That's okay. Writer's block is understandable.))

"At the very least, don't be rude about it," Roseblossom said, twitching her tail, slightly annoyed. "Just trying to help."

"You'd help me if you left," Dark muttered. "Why should I matter to you, anyway? You should hate me by now. Or… is that not what most people do?"

"Well, I don't know what most people do..." Roseblossom purred. "But in my Clan, we cats always stick together and support each other."

"You trust and love all of them somehow?" Repulsed and confused, Dark glanced away from the feline. "Sounds like a pretty sad life to me."

Flint now stepped forward.

"Hello.." he spoke softly. "Dark, you doing ok?" He smiled softly. "It was quite the... Kerfuffle back there..."

The reddish she-cat shook her head. "Having so many Clanmates to please can be stressful at times," she admitted, "but to me, it would be worse to have absolutely no one to love or trust at all."

Dark, trying his hardest not to burst out laughing at the use of the word "kerfuffle," considered his options. He could keep acting cold and heartless as if other people actually cared about how he felt… or… he could play along in this pitiful game and pretend that they'd somehow reached his heart. Maybe they'd finally quit bothering him then. Feigning a genuinely sad expression, he began to set up his act. "… I guess you're right," he sighed wistfully. "My trust has just been broken pretty badly in the past… and I'm sorry for how I acted earlier. I just like to be alone, that's all. I really don't know what came over me…" He could practically feel the worry radiating through his own falsified voice, which he assumed was a good sign. He wasn't a huge expert at fooling people like his sister, but he figured he was good enough at it to get along. Aren't you just becoming as bad as Rin, lying to people like this? He whisked the thought away. This might be the only way for them to leave me alone. I have to at least try to get it to work—couldn't truth be forgotten for just this once?

"Oh, I see..." Roseblossom muttered. "Well, maybe you should apologize to your sister and your friend too. Just to make sure all of you are okay, after that big argument."

Upon recalling that his sister was present, Dark had to suppress a cringe. How did she even get here, though…? He ignored it again. This was no time to be asking questions nobody had the answer to. "My sister, and… my friend? I only recognized my sister—did you mean the teal-haired girl with her?" He frowned. "I don't remember having seen her in the past. Only Rin. Maybe I just didn't know her that well."

"She recognized you, so you must have met at some point," Roseblossom pointed out. "Maybe you'll remember something after talking to her."

Flint nodded. Completely fooled by the act. "Yeah. She seemed ready to make things up with you..." he twitched an ear.

"Maybe I would recognize her," Dark agreed with a nod. "I should go apologize to them and patch things up." He was still very confused, though. He'd only known one person with that hair color, and that was… No. There's no way it could be her, right?

The Narrator's voice spoke again.

"He-hello! Hello Darkley! I've found you again! Well, it looks like your adventure is coming along nicely! Found some friends, have we? I told you, making your own story is your best way to freedom, and this is a good start.

Hello, friends! I am the Narrator." For whatever reason he always placed emphasis on the middle syllable of that word. "I'm glad you have all heeded the call for adventure. Now then, what are your names?"

Mentally, Dark grumbled. This guy again? He'd almost forgotten about that voice… that eerie yet annoying voice… Still… could he even get it to believe him, too? "I'm just apologizing to them for being so rude… I'd still rather be by myself, thanks…" He hoped his words had enough innocent awkwardness in them to get by.

Roseblossom looked around for the source of the voice, but she found nothing. "Um, I'm Roseblossom..." she said nervously.
