A little while later, Alexa, who had only eaten, at the very most, a half of her pita, looked around at her bandmates with a smug, devilish smile.

Samantha, now finished eating, placed her fork inside of her empty container, glancing at the others to see if they were also finished. Instantly, her attention focused on the wrap sitting in front of Alexa. "... Alex... Please tell me you aren't done," she sighed.

"YEAH I'm done!" Alexa proudly responded, sticking her tongue out in a wild grin. "You think I'm gonna get stuck with the couch that easy?! Haha!"

Gabby stared at Alexa's pita for a few seconds before before glancing down at her own, now-empty container. "... I COULD'VE done better," she commented, crossing her arms and looking away from the others. "But it's not like I'll be getting the couch tonight, anyway, so this is still a victory!" she added, quickly motioning to Mandy. "I know we both finished, yeah, but she had MORE food."

Mandy had just barely managed to finish her entire plate of shawarma, and now leaned back in her seat, looking highly contented. "It was worth it... The couch won't be so bad," she chimed in softly, just happy to have finally eaten something.

"Riiiight, right." Alexa grinned mischievously at Mandy. "I gotta say, though... All couch stuff aside, I'm pretty impressed," she remarked, snickering a bit. "I didn't expect you to ACTUALLY FINISH the whole thing... Geez."

"Mandy's not sleeping on the couch," Samantha told everyone, refusing to let any one of her bandmates go without a proper bed that night. "Like I said earlier, I don't mind taking the couch. It's not like we'll be staying at that hotel for very long."

"What? Ugh, but what about our contest??" Alexa groaned, sounding frustrated. "If you take the couch, then-"

"The whole thing was pointless? A gross waste of time and food? Yep," Samantha finished, interrupting Alexa mid-sentence.

"Heh... Thanks," Mandy responded to Alexa, resting a hand on her middle. "It wasn't easy... haaah..." she added with a small, slightly awkward sounding laugh.

Gabby quickly turned to look at Samantha when she raised the possibility of their contest being pointless. "Awww, no way...!" she complained.

"You sure, Sam...? I mean... I'd be totally OK with the couch; really," Mandy added somewhat quietly. Though she and Samantha had already had a similar discussion while they were eating, she couldn't help feeling bad for her bandmate, still.

"Trust me, Mandy; I'm one-hundred-percent fine with it. Really," Samantha assured Mandy, sounding as sure as she could ever be. "Now, I don't wanna hear any more about that couch, got it?" she told everybody. "We've gotta focus on what's important, and that's gettin' ready for our gig tomorrow."

"Eh, guess you've got a point," Alexa begrudgingly agreed, crossing her arms and shrugging slightly as she glanced away.

"So, I told the crew to haul our stuff over to the venue when we arrived. They oughta be done by now," Samantha pointed out. "I say we all head over there for a little rehearsal. Sound like a plan?"

"'Kay... Got it," Mandy nodded, very much agreeing with Samantha when she reminded them of their schedule.

"Oh... Oh yeeaaah; the gig," Gabby remembered. "Yeah, we probably should be focusing on that," she noted, giving a little shrug.

When Samantha then suggested that they have a moment of rehearsal, Mandy nodded once again. However, feeling a little sluggish from having eaten so much in one sitting, she was slightly worried that she wouldn't be able to keep up with her bandmates. "Sure; sounds good," she agreed despite her uncertainty, giving a brief thumbs-up.

"Yep, sounds like a plan!" Gabby chimed in eagerly.

Just then, Samantha remembered something; the largely-unfinished pita sitting in front of Alexa. "Wait... Alex, you should probably finish that," she suggested, motioning towards it.

"What?? Naw, man, it's too late for that!" Alexa protested. "With all the veggies and sauce and stuff, it's probably all soggy and gross or whatever now... Besides, we've gotta get going NOW. I'm just chuckin' it."

"Alright... We all know you're gonna regret it, though..." Hesitantly, Samantha placed Alexa's unfinished meal on the same tray as the rest of their trash, then went to throw it all away.

"Aw, geez... Too bad that was all for nothing," Gabby remarked when Samantha left to throw everything away.

Mandy watched for a few moments as Samantha left, looking almost saddened to see so much of Alexa's pita go unfinished. Then, she cast a quick, concerned glance at her bandmate, thinking of how little she had actually eaten.

In a moment, Samantha returned to the table. "Alright; let's go see where we'll be playin' tomorrow night!" she told the rest of the band, motioning for them to leave the table.

"Yeah, let's check it out!" Alexa quickly got to her feet and headed for the exit, looking forward to seeing where tomorrow's show would be held.

"Woo, yeah!" Gabby sprung from her seat, swiftly making her way to the exit.

With a nod, Mandy rose to her feet more slowly, still very full from her shawarma plate, and leisurely followed after the others.

Once everyone else was heading for the exit, Samantha made her way there, as well.

Once they were there, Samantha stepped out onto the stage and took a good look around. It definitely wasn't the biggest venue Skulltimate had played, but it was a little larger than she had expected. "OK... This is way better than our hotel suite, by far," she commented, locating her drum kit, then heading to sit behind it.

Alexa grabbed her signature blue-flame guitar as she strolled towards the front of the stage. "Yeeeaaah! Forget the hotel; let's hang out here instead!" she remarked delightedly, rushing over to the guitar amplifiers and making sure everything was ready for their rehearsal.

"Oh yeah! We can so work with this!" Gabby grinned, running to get her guitar, then going to check the amplifiers, as well. After a few moments, she made her way over to her spot behind the mic stand, waiting for the moment where everyone was ready.

"Whoa, yeah, it is pretty nice here..." Mandy chimed in, glancing around with an impressed expression as she picked up her bass guitar. She then strolled over to her own amplifiers, checking over them to make sure they were also ready.

"So, everyone ready?" Samantha asked the rest of the band, now seated behind her rather impressive drum kit.

"Yeeaaahhh, but the REAL question is..." Alexa walked to the front of the stage, facing the sea of completely empty seats. "ARE YOU GUYS?!" she called to the nonexistent crowd, pumping a fist in the air. She then randomly strummed a power chord for effect.

"YEAAAAHH!" Gabby shouted into her microphone, covering her mouth with her hands as she made a 'crowd cheering' noise.

Mandy gave a nod in response to Samantha as she took her position on the stage, giggling a little when she heard Alexa and Gabby.

Samantha snickered a little at Alexa and Gabby's antics, as well. "OK guys, pay attention. You don't wanna miss your cue," she called to them, smirking.

"Yeah, yeah," Alexa called back, laughing, then prepared for the rehearsal to begin. She stood and stared towards the drum kit, listening carefully.

Once everyone appeared ready, Samantha counted them in with a few clicks of her drumsticks. Then, she began to play a strong, mildly-technical beat.

After one more laugh, Gabby turned her head to watch Samantha, as well, preparing for the start of their rehearsal.

Mandy also paid close attention to Samantha, listening and waiting for their cue to begin. When it was time, she joined in with a steady, somewhat elaborate bassline.

Soon, Alexa joined in as well, playing a repeating, flavorful riff. As she played, she bobbed up and down, stomped her foot, and strolled around the stage a little, embracing the music's energy.

Suddenly, after a while of playing the same rhythm, Samantha transitioned into a completely different one; an interesting, faster beat, in 6/8 time. As a significant number of their songs contained such rhythm changes, she wanted to ensure that the others could transition smoothly.

Gabby came in a few moments after Alexa, backing her up with some consistent chords. Then, hearing Sam suddenly transition into a different rhythm, she promptly sped up her pace to match, throwing in a few variations of what she was playing before.

Mandy, too, was quick to respond to the change in rhythm, her concentration intensifying as she changed her own playing to match that of their drummer.

Samantha continued to beat out this rhythm for a little while before playing a little fill and finishing it. "Nice!" she called to the others. "I was thinkin' we should start doing more random improv like that during shows sometime."

Alexa finished with a brief riff. "Yeah, I'm game!" she responded enthusiastically.

Mandy steadily continued on until things were wrapped up, letting her final note ring out for a short while before silencing it. "Same, here!" she agreed with Alexa, grinning.

Strumming one last chord, Gabby looked over at Samantha and nodded eagerly. "Yeeaaah, sounds great to me!"

"Right on. So, back to the present... We should probably start actually rehearsing stuff for tomorrow's show," Samantha remarked with a little laughter. "Actually, we should be playing the whole set, start to finish... You guys ready for a bit of a marathon?"

"YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Alexa responded in an eager, extremely over-the-top voice. "Bring it ON!"

"You bet...!" Mandy cheered, momentarily pumping her fist in the air. By now, she was thankfully feeling less stuffed from her feast of shawarma back at the restaurant, so keeping up with the energy of her bandmates likely wouldn't be a problem.

"YESSS, BRING IT ON!" Gabby replied with an enthusiastic and also quite over-the-top tone, bouncing up and down in place.

"OK, PLACEEES!" Samantha called to everyone, also eager to begin rehearsing their set.

Alexa, laughing, rushed over to her planned starting location on-stage, as she had wandered quite far. She looked as if she were prepared for battle, adopting a strong, wide stance.

Once everyone seemed ready, Samantha nodded, then counted everyone in with a few drumstick clicks. Then, she began playing a simple, throbbing bass drum beat; almost like a heart, but with an unusual rhythm, pausing every so often.
This was the intro to a song they called Phantom Pulse.

A few moments after Samantha began playing, Mandy entered with the correct bassline to go along with her rhythm.

Gabby waited for her cue to join in, her head beginning to bob in time with her bandmates' playing as she stood in place.

Alexa knew that Gabby was supposed to start playing soon. As she was supposed to only come in after her, she stared expectantly in her direction. She almost looked a little impatient, wondering if she was going to end up missing her cue and holding things up.
